CHAPTER THIRTY NINE

Daniel's Pov

"Yow bro." - Henry

"Pare!" - Francis. Then he gave me a manly hug

I gave Andrea and Jessie a kiss on the cheek as they also greeted me.

"Kamusta na, Dude? Namiss kita." then Henry batted his lashes

"So gay, Henry." - Andrea

Then we all laughed. Parang hindi naman sila tumambay dito sa restaurant kahapon.

After graduation, I've decided to build my own restaurant. It took 6 months bago natapos ang paggawa.

Bakit restaurant? Coz it reminds me of her. She's a great cook remember? I've always thought of her sharing this great achievement with me. I would be the manager and she would be the cook. She would be busy cooking for me and for our kids.

The thought made me smile once more.

I've been running this business for a month now. And so far, so good

"Tara sa taas tayo."

Umakyat kami sa 3rd floor. The third floor was my personal space. Nagpagawa ako ng sarili kong lugar dito sa restaurant kung saan pwede kaming makapagbonding ng mga kaibigan ko nang hindi nabubulabog yung mga customers.

Maiingay kasi sila sa totoo lang.

"I missed her." - Jessie

Jessie and Andrea started to look at the big frames, paintings and sketches hanging on the walls.

"I know what she'll say 'What the fuck is this and that?!" Andrea said while mimicking Cassandra's voice.

I printed all of her stolen shots from her friends and me. Some pictures were captured when she's laughing, some were smiling and few of them were captured when she was glaring at the camera. Or baka sa kumukuha ng picture sakanya.

That's her. That's Cassandra.

It's the only way I could see her. The only way I could still her presence.

Umupo kami sa sofa. Dumerecho naman sila Andrea sa kusina.

Halos isang taon na din pala nung huli kaming nagkita.

Charlie told me what happened after he recovered. I was so devastated when I found out. I've felt like half of my life died too.

I was blaming myself that time. I should've been there and protected her. Sana nandito pa siya. Sana pinilit ko siya na sabihin sakin kung anong nangyayari. Dapat sumama ako. Dapat sinamahan ko siya.

But all I did was to give up that time. Hinayaan kong mang yari ang gusto niyang pakawalan ako para tapusin niya yun mag-isa. Para hindi ako madamay.

Ayaw niya akong masaktan pati rin ang mga kaibigan niya. Kaya iniwan niya kami nang walang maayos na pamamaalam.

"Sa wakas! Nakarating din!"

I looked behind. I smiled when I saw them both. Charlie and Shann.

"As usual, late." - Francis

"Upo na. Kain na tayo." Jessie said while putting down our food. Tinulungan siya ni Henry

We spent the whole day talking, teasing and laughing.

"Ikaw Daniel, kelan ka ba maggigirlfiend?"

"So, the hot seat is on me now?" I said laughing

"Pero bro, seriously? Kelan ka maggigirlfriend ulit?" Henry asked seriously
