CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

Cassandra's POV

We're close to the witch's hideout. It's far from the city. There are lots of trees everywhere. Habang palapit kami ng palapit, paunti nang paunti naman ang mga bahay hanggang sa wala na kaming makitang iba pang nakatyong mga bahay.

I looked at my Dad. He's nervous. I held his hand and gave him a smile.

"Gray. You ready?" I asked

He looked at me on the front mirror and smiled.

Siya ang nagmamaneho at kami ni Dad ay nasa backseat.

Few minutes later, natanaw namin ang isang malaking bahay.

"It's not good to be home." he murmured

We parked at the front of the gate. May mga armadong lalaki sa paligid. Binuksan nila ang gate at pinapasok kaming tatlo. Isang malaki at lumang bahay. Hindi ko akalain na dito siya nakatira.

Lumakad kami hanggang sa makarating kami sa mismong harap ng bahay na may mga lalaki pading may mga baril sa katawan. Napansin ko na lahat sila ay nakamaskara.

Binuksan nila ang pinto pero pinigilan kami sa pagpasok.

Una nilang kinapkapan si Rein. Lahat ng dala ni Rein, tinanggal nila. Sumunod si Dad. At sumunod naman ako.

Shit. Another maniac. I kicked him in the balls when I noticed na ineenjoy niya ang pagkapkap.

"Maniac!" I blurted

Then all the guns are on me. Great. Just great.

We continued walking through the hallway. And at the end of it a glass door. Gray turned the knob and opened the door for us.

Pagkapasok namin ay tumambad saakin ang isang babaeng payat, nanlilisik na mga mata at maputla. Nangingitim na ang mga ilalim ng mata niya.

She poured a glass of wine and sat properly.

"Alex, mahal ko." she said stretching her hand.

Si Magenta ba to? Bakit ganito ang itsura niya?

"Have you taken your medications?" - Dad she started walking towards her.

I looked at Rein. Ngayon lang niya ulit nakita ang Mama niya. But he's only staring at her emotionless.

Sumunod ako kay Dad at kasunod non ay pagbato ni Magenta sakin ng basong hawak niya.

"WAG KANG SUMUNOD! HINDI KITA TINAWAG!" she shouted. Mas lalong nanlisik pa ang mga mata niya.

She's a monster.

Umupo si Dad sa isang bakanteng upuan sa harap niya. There was a table between them.

"Hindi pa. Simula nung kunin ka nila sakin." mahinahon niyang sabi

I saw Dad held Magenta's hand. She was shocked then she smiled lifting his hands and kissed the back of it.

"Kayong dalawa, come here. Nagugutom ba kayo?" tanong niya saamin.

Gahd! This is making me crazy! Nakakatakot na siyang tignan.

Rein held my elbow and we slowly walked together.

"BILISAN NIYO!" then she fired at us.

Shit! Where did she get that?! I didn't expect na ganto kalala ang mangyayari ngayon.

We quickly sat on the vacant seats beside Dad. I'm sitting the middle.

We all remained silent. I glanced. She's looking directly with her wide eyes at Dad. Damn! She's scary. But there's no use if I will be scared at her.
