CHAPTER FORTY

DANIEL'S POV

"Sir. May customer po na nagrereklamo." Josh said. My assistant.

"You're a future manager. Alam mo na dapat kung paano i-handle ang mga customer complaints."

"Sorry sir but I tried my best. Kayo daw po ang kakausapin niya."

I sighed. "Anong table?"

"Yung nasa dulo po."

I went downstairs and searched for the customer.

I froze at my place as I catched her gaze.

She still looked the same. Questions started to run in my mind. There's a lot of space in my head that needs an explanation.

I composed myself and went to her table.

"Goodafternoon, Ma'am. Tawag niyo daw po ako."

She gestured me to sit on the vacant chair in front of her.

"This place is really great. It was all worth it."

I'm glad she appreciated the place. "Thanks."

"How are you?" she asked

"Honestly, I have lots of questions in my mind." I said

"Ask me."

"But I don't know where to start."

"You're getting married?"

I didn't notice she's already staring at my ring. Yung binigay sakin kagabi.

I closed my fists and put my hand below the table.

"Yes." I answered

"Do you love her? Your fiancee?"

"I haven't seen her yet." I paused "Don't worry. I will never forget Cassandra."

Zachi sighed and blew a strand of her hair hanging on her forehead. She crossed her arms and stared at me.

"How about Cassandra? Do you still love her?"

"Yes. I always do."

"Then why were you marrying someone if you still love her?"

"Coz I have to."

"What you have to do doesn't always mean you should. All problems have options. Some people are just so blind not seeing them." Zachi sipped her wine

"Are you telling me that I should cancel the deal, let my family suffer just to love someone who's not here? Who doesn't even trusted me? Who didn't let me fully enter her life?!" I said

I started to feel the pain again. The anger I felt for her. Damn it. I don't want to be angry at her.

"Hanggang saan ang kinuwento ni Charlie sayo?" she asked

"Answer my question fir---"

"I dom't entertain questions if I don't want to. I'm a customer here. You, answer my questions. It's for you too. You're feeling the pain because you don't know much."

I scowled. "What do you mean I don't know that much?"

"Hanggang saan?" she asked

"The time he was hit by Maxine."

"And?"

"He said he was beside her. Sa tingin niya ganon din ang ginawa ni Maxine kay Cassandra."

"He passed out and he didn't know what happened next. He's not sure but you believed it. You all admitted that she died?" she said with full control of anger on her voice
