CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

My eyes widened. My left arm is bleeding. I was shot. Daniel is saying something but I didn't managed to listen. I was so shocked. And the thought came that Magenta did this.

He drove so fast. Malakas na busina ang pinapakawalan ng kotse ni Daniel sa mga sasakyang nasa unahan niya. Sumandal ako at hinawakan yung braso ko. I remained silent until we came to the nearest hospital.

"Call Zachi." I said.

"You're fine now. Buti nalang hindi ganon kadaming dugo ang nawala sayo at walang balang tumama sayo." saad ng doctor. "Where's he?" I asked the doctor

"Nabili lang ng mga gamot para sayo. Iha, kailangan mong magpalakas. Grabe magalala yung full-package-all-in-one boyfriend mo! Hayy. Sana ako rin merong ganyan." she said

Napatawa naman ako sa sinabi ng doctor. Did he overreacted? Thank God daplis lang ang inabot ko.

"I have patients to attend to. Do you mind if I excuse myself?" Umiling iling ako and gave her a quick smile. May nurse naman malapit dito. The doctor left.

I looked around. Nasa isang kwarto ako kasama ang tatlo pang pasyente. I'm in a small ordinary hospital. Not in a high class expensive one.

I heard my ringtone. I looked to.my left and above the table, my phone ringing loudly. Tch! I forgot to turn it in silent mode. Now everyone's staring. With my full strength, I grabbed the phone and answered it. "We're here. Hell!" then Zachi hung up.

"Sandra!" behind her is Gray. Rein. Whatever.

She hugged me. Medyo iniwasan niya yung braso ko na may bandage. "Did you tell them?" I asked promptly. She didn't say a word to our parents. That' a relief. For sure magwworry sila.

"Why are you alone?" she asked calmly but You can sense the anger in her voice. I opened my mouth to say where Daniel but I shut it again when Daniel entered the room.

"Cassandra." tumakbo siya papalapit sakin at hinawakan ang magkabila kong pisngi. I can feel the heat on my cheeks now. Damn! Not here.

"Tell me. What happened." she said sitting on the side of my bed and crossing her arms. Sa itsura niya ngayon, nakaramdam ako nga kaunting takot. Her eyes, her face, her expression made me shiver. She looked like a Queen. A dark queen.

Daniel told her what happened. Gray remained silent.

"Call Anj and Calvin." Gray immediately put out his phone from his pocket and made a call. I glanced at the wall clock. It's 7:45 pm

"You better go." saad ko kay Daniel. Knowing he have plans with that Maxine.

"No. I won't leave. Let me stay." he said worried

"No.You can go now. I'm fine." I said

"Please. I know this is all my fault. I shouldn't brought you anywhere. You were shot because of me." he said while gently squeezing my hand.

He's blaming himself to wat happened. "It was an accident. Don't blame yourself. Not your fault."

"Bakit mo ako pinapaalis? I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." he said

"I'm just thinking of your plans meeting that friend of yours. Magkikita kayo ngayon diba?" Zachi stood up and gave us time to talk. His action says no.

"Go now. Zachi's here. I'm fine. Ayokong maging istorbo sa mga plano mo." mahinahon kong sabi.

"Are you pushing me away?" he asked with irritation in his voice. "When I say no, then it's a no. I'll stay here and I'm not leaving you. Now shut up and take a rest."
