I've been dating the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes for a little over two years, and we recently bought a house together. Shawn and I were laying on our couch together when his phone rang. He answered as he rubbed my back.

"Hi Mum." He said. I could hear Karen's English accent.

"Hello darling. How would you feel if your father, Aaliyah and I flew down to see you and Y/n?" She asked.

"That would be great!" Shawn said. He moved to America for me because he didn't want to disrupt my schooling or my chances of me getting my dream job.

"Okay. We'll start packing and we'll see you soon." She said.

"Okay. Bye Mum, love you." He said.

"Love you too darling, and give my love to Y/n." She said.

"I will." He said, and they hung up. I smiled at him.

"I promise I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, but I'm so excited that they get to see the house for the first time!" I said and Shawn laughed as he nodded. The sound of his laugh made my heart flutter.

"Me too baby. Here, come give me a kiss." He said. I moved up a little and put my lips on his. Our lips moved in sync as I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy, and I felt sparks shoot through my body like fireworks. Shawn eventually pulled away to catch his breath.

"Hey, I like kissing you. I want more." I said. Shawn chuckled.

"Then you'll get more. Come here." He said as we kissed again. Shawn held the back of my head with one of his hands and his other hand was on my back as we made out. I then pulled away so I could catch my breath, and I smiled at my handsome boyfriend.

"I love you." I said. His smile widened.

"I love you too darling." He said. I then sat up.

"Oh my gosh! I have to clean the house! It needs to look spotless for your family." I said as I tried to get up, but Shawn pulled me back down.

"Y/n, they won't care how it looks. The house looks fine." He said. I shook my head as I stood up.

"Nope. Can you clean the bathrooms and I'll sweep and vacuum please?" I asked. Shawn stared at me for a moment, so I stared back at him with pleading eyes. He finally sighed and nodded.

"Okay." He said.

"Thank you." I said.

"You're welcome. Why do I have to clean the bathrooms?" He said and asked. I tried to come up with a reason but I couldn't think of anything.

"I don't know. I like sweeping." I said. I heard Shawn chuckle. The next day, the doorbell rang and Shawn got it.

"Hi guys!" He said as his family walked in and hugged him.

"Hello darling. How are you?" His mom, Karen, asked.

"Good. How are you guys?" He asked.

"Good. Where's Y/n?" Karen asked.

"In the kitchen!" I yelled. I then heard footsteps and turned to see Karen walking in.

"Hi honey! Something smells good. What are you making?" She asked. I smiled.

"Thank you. I'm making chicken parmesan." I said. She nodded and I gave her a hug, and then gave Manny a hug, and then I gave Aaliyah a hug.

"I love your house." Karen said as she looked around the living room.

"Thank you." Shawn and I said. Soon, dinner was ready, and we all sat at the table to eat.

"So how does it feel to own a house together?" Manny, Shawn's dad, asked. Shawn and I smiled at each other.

"Good. You guys know that I love being with Y/n, so living with her is great." Shawn said and I blushed.

"Yeah, I love living with Shawn. We don't have to travel anywhere outside of where we live to get to the other person anymore. Now we can just go into our own bed together to cuddle or nap together, or watch tv together on our couch." I said. Everyone nodded and Shawn smiled at me. After dinner, Shawn helped me clean up before we went back into our living room.

"Y/n honey, do you want to go out on the back deck with me?" She asked. I nodded.

"Sure." I said. We got our shoes on and stepped outside.

"It's beautiful out here." Karen said. I nodded.

"I love it. There have been a couple of times where Shawn and I have pulled all nighters and come out here and just looked at the stars." I said.

"I have to say thank you. You make my son happier than I've ever seen him in his whole life. He loves you so much." Karen said. I smiled.

"You're welcome. He makes me happier than I've ever been in my whole entire life. I love him more than anything. Thank you for raising the man of my dreams." I said as I looked at her. She smiled.

"Did you know that Shawn called his father the day that you guys met for the first time?" She asked. I shook my head.

"No. He did?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yup. Manny came to me and said 'Our son has just met the girl that he's going to marry.' so I asked him what he meant. Shawn had told Manny all about you and he had said to my husband 'I'm going to marry that girl. Y/n's the one dad.'" Karen said. Happy tears formed in my eyes. "Are you okay darling?" Karen asked as she put her hand on my shoulder. I nodded as I wiped away the tears.

"Yeah. That just makes me really happy to hear." I said. She nodded. I then heard the door to the deck open and someone stepped out. I turned around and it was Shawn. He looked concerned.

"Are you crying? What's wrong?" He asked.

"I'll leave you two alone." Karen said and walked back inside. Shawn put his hands on my waist and I put my hands on his shoulders.

"What's wrong my love?" Shawn asked.

"Nothing's wrong. These are happy tears. I didn't know that the day that we met, you called Manny and told him that you had just met the girl that you're going to marry. Your mom thanked me for making you so happy and said that you love me so much. It just makes me really happy to hear." I said. Shawn looked relieved as he pulled me in for a hug. I closed my eyes, feeling nothing but content and happy in the arms of the man that I love.

"Well of course I'm going to marry you someday, and you make me the happiest man alive. I love you so damn much honey." Shawn said. I ran some of my fingers through his hair.

"I love you so damn much too. Come on, let's go back inside." I said as I pulled away from the hug.

"Hold on, I want a kiss first." Shawn said. I nodded and we kissed. I got the same feelings, that I did before: the heart racing, the sparks, the butterflies, everything. Shawn and I went back inside as we held hands and his family smiled at us. Two years later, Shawn and I got married. I love Shawn, and my in-laws, so much.
