110. "I Get To Marry Him."

I'm engaged to the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes. I was on tour with him during the summer, but now that it's fall, I had to leave tour and go back to school. My friend Molly came over one day.

"So how was tour?" She asked. I smiled.

"Oh my gosh it was so much fun. Being able to travel around with my best friend was amazing. Shawn brought me on stage during one of the Boston concerts because it was the four year anniversary of when we met. He had the engineers play At Last by Etta James and we danced to it twice. He's amazing." I said. Molly smiled.

"Is that going to be your first dance song?" She asked. I shook my head.

"No, our first dance song is going to be Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran, and since Shawn and Ed are friends, we're hoping that he can perform it for us. But we're also hoping to use At Last as our last dance of the night song." I said.

"Have you guys started to plan the wedding at all?" She asked.

"A little. We were talking over Facetime the other day about vows because there's the traditional 'in sickness and in health.' one but there's also others. I think we're going to do the traditional one though." I said.

"I've never seen you so happy as you are when you're with Shawn or when you're talking about him." Molly said. I smiled.

"He makes me the happiest woman alive. I love him more than words will ever be able to describe. When I was on tour with him, we had this tradition: with each new city that we went to, we would go to the bookstore and he would buy me a book. I loved it." I said. My phone lit up and I saw that I had an email from Shawn.

Shawn: Babe, I can't text you because I'm doing a livestream, so this is from my laptop, but will you please join my livestream so I can see your beautiful and gorgeous faceee?

"Shawn is doing a livestream and he wants me to join." I said with a laugh.

"Do you want me to stay out of it or no?" Molly asked.

"You can be in it if you would like. He says that he wants to see my beautiful and gorgeous face." I said with a giggle as I went onto Instagram. I clicked on Shawn's livestream and requested to join. I saw him smile.

"Y/n is on here! Guys she's going to join the livestream." Shawn said to his fans, and then I saw my own face pop up on his livestream. His smile widened.

"Hi babe." I said.

"Hey gorgeous. Oh my gosh, did you get more gorgeous since I last saw you?" Shawn asked and I blushed. Molly moved her head into the frame.

"You're so cheesy Shawn." She said.

"Molly!" He said.

"Hey dude!" She said.

"Are you spending time with my girl?" Shawn asked. I blushed at him calling me his girl.

"Yup. We were just talking about the wedding." Molly said and I nodded. Shawn rest his chin in the palm of his hand and I smiled at him.

"I can't wait to marry you babe. You've made my life so much better and I love you so damn much for that. You make me the happiest man alive." Shawn said. My smile widened.

"Well I can't wait to marry you either honey. You make me the happiest woman in the world." I said.

"Y/n, look at what just popped up on my Facebook feed." Molly said. I looked over and laughed.

"Shawn, your cover of Post Malone's 'Psycho' just popped up on Molly's Facebook feed." I said. Shawn laughed.

"That's great." Shawn said.

"I've never seen it." Molly said as she started playing it.

"I can literally hear it playing." Shawn said and Molly and I shushed him. He chuckled.

"We have to hear this." Molly said. I watched the video with Molly and smiled. Oh my gosh, I get to marry that man. Holy crap I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Happy tears welled up in my eyes and I tried to hold them back, but soon a tear had slipped down onto my face as I continued to smile. I wiped it away.

"Darling are you crying?" Shawn asked. Molly paused the video and looked at me. The frame that she paused it on showed a close up of Shawn's face. I wiped another tear away and looked at Molly. I pointed at the paused video.

"I get to marry that man. That's my best friend and I'm engaged to him. Oh my gosh I'm the luckiest girl in the whole world. Holy crap, I can't wait to marry him. These are happy tears, really happy tears, I swear." I said. I then looked over at Shawn.

"I don't like it when you cry baby." Shawn said.

"They're happy tears, I promise. Shawn, we're going to get married. You're the most amazing man and human being ever and you're my best friend and my everything and I get to marry you. I love you so much Shawn." I said. Shawn smiled at me a little.

"I love you too baby. I'm going to end the livestream so I can Facetime you, okay?" He asked. I nodded and wiped away more tears.

"Okay." I said, and he ended the livestream. I looked at Molly.

"Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yeah, I'm just really happy." I said. She nodded.

"Well I'll get going so you and Shawn can talk privately." Molly said. I nodded, gave her a hug, and then she left. Shawn soon Facetimed me and I answered.

"Hey gorgeous. Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded as I began to cry a little again.

"Yes. I swear to God Shawn, they're happy tears. You make me the happiest girl in the world and I love you so much that I'll never be able to put it into words. I can't wait to marry you." I said. Shawn smiled.

"I can't wait to marry you either honey and I love you so much too. I wish that I could be home to hold you and wipe your tears away. I miss you honey." Shawn said.

"I miss you too baby. But tour will fly by and you'll be home before you know it, I promise." I said. Shawn nodded.

"You make me the luckiest man in the world, did you know that?" Shawn asked.

"That's what you've told me." I said with a smile. Shawn chuckled.

"Are you my girl?" Shawn asked with a smile. He likes to ask me that, typically when we're cuddling. My smile widened and I nodded.

"Yup, I am. Always and forever I'll be your girl." I said.

"That's right." Shawn said, and then he yawned.

"Go rest my love." I said. He shook his head.

"No. I miss you and I miss seeing your face and I miss hearing your voice. Talk to me baby, I want to hear about your day and how school has been and everything." Shawn said as he smiled at me. I sighed.

"I'll make you a deal: I'll do that, but you have to lay down and close your eyes. You don't have to fall asleep, but I want you to at least lay down and close your eyes." I said. Shawn sighed but did it.

"Okay, talk to me baby." Shawn said. I did, I told him all about my day and I could tell when he finally fell asleep with the phone resting on the pillow but facing him. I smiled and took a screenshot.

"Sleep well my love." I said, and then ended the Facetime call. I love Shawn so much and I can't wait to marry him.
