I have three kids with my husband of nineteen years, Shawn Mendes, the singer and songwriter. Our oldest child is Rose Lucille Mendes, she's eighteen and about to graduate from high school. Our middle child is Jacob Alexander Scott Mendes, he's sixteen and he goes by the nickname Jake. Our youngest child is Sarah Grace Mendes, and she's fourteen. Shawn and I love our kids more than anything in this world. We were sitting at the dining room table when Shawn began to speak.

"So Rose, are you excited to be going to the University of Southern Maine in the fall?" Shawn asked. Rose smiled and nodded.

"Yup. This is off topic, but lately I've been watching videos on a certain YouTube channel. The channel is called Celebrity Snapchat Diaries, and I'm not kidding Daddy, it has all of your Instagram live streams." Rose said.

"Really?" Shawn asked with wide eyes. Rose nodded.

"Yup. Why do you think I just stayed in my room all day yesterday?" Rose asked with a laugh.

"Oh, you were watching them?" Shawn asked. Rose nodded.

"Yeah. I loved seeing the evolution of things. I especially loved seeing the live streams go from just you, to you and mom. Like, I watched your first live stream together and it was so cute. I had Sarah come in and watch some of the videos too. I loved the one where you and mom introduced me." Rose said. Shawn smiled at me.

"What live stream was your favorite?" Shawn asked. Rose thought for a moment.

"I loved the one where it was a few months after you and Mom had gotten married and you woke up without her so you said that you bet she's downstairs reading and she was. You guys were being so cute and cuddly with each other." Rose said. Shawn and I smiled at each other.

"Well I know your mother pretty well, and when I saw that her book wasn't next to her side of the bed, I knew that she was most likely reading, and I was right." Shawn said. I giggled and nodded.

"You can tell that you and Mom are soulmates." Rose said. I smiled at Shawn who gazed at me with a very loving look.

"Yup. She's the love of my life and my soulmate. Always and forever, right Mrs. Mendes?" Shawn asked. I perked up at the sound of my last name and nodded.

"Yup. Nineteen years of being Mrs. Mendes, and I still get butterflies whenever you call me that." I said. Shawn chuckled and then rubbed my cheek with his thumb.

"Well my love, you are Mrs. Mendes." Shawn said and I smiled at him. I heard Sarah sigh and Shawn and I looked at her.

"You okay Sarah?" I asked. She pushed her plate away.

"I don't want to talk about it." Sarah said.

"Okay... are you not hungry anymore? You barely ate." I asked and said.

"Well maybe if you and Daddy hadn't been gawking at each other I wouldn't have been so grossed out." Sarah snapped.

"Watch your tone young lady." Shawn said.

"Sarah, your father and I are like this with each other all of the time. Why are you suddenly upset about this?" I said and asked. She sighed again.

"I'm just sick of it." She said, not looking at us.

"Where is this coming from?" Shawn asked.

"I'm going to my room." Sarah said.

"Sarah Grace Mendes, sit back down. We're not done eating and if you want to leave the table, you need to ask to be excused." I said. She stared daggers at me, it was a look that she had never given me, her mother, before.
