Shawn's point of view

Last week, I proposed to my girlfriend of three years, Y/n Y/l/n. She used to do horseback riding many years ago, up until she was about sixteen, but due to an ankle injury, she stopped riding. I decided to surprise her one day. I handed her a pair of black leggings and some boots.

"Here you go." I said. She gave me a confused look.

"What are these for?" She asked.

"It's a surprise. Just meet me downstairs when you're ready please." I said before giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"You missed." She said with a smirk.

"I missed?" I asked. She nodded and tapped her index finger to her lips and I chuckled before putting my lips on hers. I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my stomach, I felt sparks shoot through me like fireworks, and I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon. I pulled away from the kiss and we smiled at each other. I then left the room so she could get ready while I waited downstairs. She soon came downstairs.

"How do I look?" She asked.

"Beautiful, per usual." I said and she blushed. I interlaced my fingers with hers, and electricity shot through me, yet I felt safe and warm at the same time. I opened the car door for her and she got in.

"So where are we going?" She asked as I backed the car out of our driveway.

"That, my love, is a surprise." I said. She groaned.

"You know how I feel about surprises." She said. I laughed.

"Yes but you liked it when I surprised you by proposing to you and asking you to marry me." I pointed out. I looked over at her and her arms were crossed and her mouth was shut. I looked back at the road and shook my head as I smiled. We soon finished the five minute long drive to the stable and when I looked over at my fiancé, her jaw was practically on the floor before she looked over at me.

"Am I about to ride a horse again?" She asked with wide, excited eyes. I smiled and she squealed as she jumped out of the car. I got out and went over to her.

"Are you excited darling?" I asked as we interlaced our fingers again. She nodded.

"Yes! Did you set this up?" She asked. I nodded and her smile widened.

"Yup. I've heard you talk about when you used to ride so I figured that it would be nice to set this up so you can ride again." I said. Y/n kissed me quickly.

"I love you. You're amazing." She said and I laughed.

"I love you too, and you're the amazing one, my darling." I said.

"Okay, where do we go?" She asked. A woman then came out with a beautiful chestnut colored horse. Y/n's jaw dropped.

"Is that an Arabian?" Y/n asked. The woman nodded.

"Yup. His name is Alfie. Are you Y/n?" The woman asked and my fiancé nodded.

"Yes." She said. The woman stuck her hand out for Y/n to shake, and they shook hands.

"Well, welcome to Victory Stables Y/n. I'm Alyssa." The woman said. She then turned to me. "You must be Shawn. You set this all up, correct?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yes I did." I said.

"Yes and he's an amazing fiancé for that." Y/n said and we all laughed.

"Shawn said that you used to ride. If you don't mind me asking, what made you stop?" Alyssa asked as Y/n started to pet Alfie. I took a picture on my phone.
