134. "You Still Have To Date Your Wife."

A/n: Okay so I know that it's not December twenty-second, but let's pretend that it is. Anyways, please enjoy this imagine. Okay, without further ado, let's begin!

I woke up in the morning to my handsome husband, the singer and songwriter Shawn Mendes, asleep but facing me. His mouth was open just a little bit and I watched as he scrunched up his nose for a moment before letting it return to its natural state. I smiled and then wriggled myself out of his grip.

I was about to go downstairs when I realized that today marked six years since Shawn had asked me to be his girlfriend. I smiled and walked into his office and sat down at his desk. I looked at the pictures that he has of him and I in there. I don't know how long I was in there for, but I suddenly heard a chuckle. I turned and saw Shawn leaning against the doorframe.

"What are you laughing at Mendes?" I asked. He walked into his office and sat down at the chair that I usually sit in.

"You like looking at the photos of us, don't you Mrs. Mendes?" Shawn asked as he put his chin in the palm of his hand. I nodded.

"Yup. Now, my amazing husband, do you know what today is?" I asked. He thought for a moment before his eyes widened.

"OH MY GOSH IT'S THE ANNIVERSARY OF WHEN WE STARTED DATING!" Shawn yelled. I laughed and nodded.

"Yup." I said. Shawn ran out of the room and then I heard him leave the house. Huh? Where was he going? I went downstairs and made Shawn and I some pancakes. He has no clue, but I got him a present. When we got married, we decided that we would still celebrate the anniversary of the day that we began dating. As I finished making the pancakes, Shawn walked in with a bouquet of pink tulips. I smiled at him as he walked over to me.

"Happy anniversary Mrs. Mendes." He said and my smile widened as he handed the flowers over to me.

"Happy anniversary Mr. Mendes. Thank you for these. They're beautiful." I said. Shawn kissed my forehead and let his lips linger, it's one of his ways of telling me that he loves me. I let my eyes fluttered shut as I smiled.

"They may be beautiful but not as beautiful as you." Shawn said and I blushed. I then put them in a vase and filled the vase with some water.

"You like to make me blush, don't you?" I asked. Shawn nodded as he looked at me with such love in his eyes that for a moment I could've sworn that my heart was about to burst.

"Yup. You're so cute when your face is all red. Come give me a kiss darling." Shawn said. I nodded and put my hands on his waist. He put his hands on my cheeks and our lips met. Our lips moved in perfect synchronization as I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my tummy, I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, and I felt sparks shoot through my body like fireworks. We soon pulled away and smiled at each other.

"I love you." I said. Shawn's smile widened.

"I love you too darling. Let's go out to dinner tonight." He said. I nodded.

"Okay. I have something for you." I said.

"Baby you didn't have to get me anything." Shawn protested. I frowned at him.

"Says the man who just got me flowers." I said. Shawn chuckled and nodded. I went upstairs and got his present and went back downstairs to find him sitting on the couch waiting for me. I came back down and handed him the box and then sat down next to him.

"What is it?" He asked. I giggled.

"Open it up and look babe." I said. Shawn opened it and I watched his face as his jaw dropped and his eyes widened.

"This... is beautiful." He said and I smiled, glad that he liked the present. It was a canvas, and on the canvas was a picture of us dancing to our first dance, but there were words that wrapped around us: the lyrics to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. Thinking Out Loud was our first dance song.

"You like it?" I asked, just to be sure. He looked at me with a huge smile on his face.

"It's beautiful. I love it honey. Thank you so much." He said and gave me another kiss. We soon pulled away.

"You're welcome babe." I said.

"Can I give you your present now?" Shawn asked and I nodded. I then watched as he ran upstairs and came back down with a box. He smiled as he handed to me, and I could have sworn that I felt a thousand butterflies in my stomach when he smiled at me. I opened up the box and smiled.

"Oh my gosh I love it!" I said and Shawn sat down next to me and kissed my temple. It was a framed quote, and the quote said "If I had my life to live over again, I would find you sooner so that I could love you longer." and I absolutely loved it.

"Well I know how much you like quotes, especially love quotes, so when I saw this I instantly knew that I had to get it for you." Shawn said and I smiled.

"You're amazing. Thank you for this." I said, and Shawn kissed my forehead again. Later on, Shawn and I went out and had a very nice dinner. We got home and my phone dinged and I saw that Shawn had posted a photo of us that we had someone take when we were out at dinner. I read the caption.

"Six years ago today, I asked Y/n to be my girlfriend and obviously she said yes. I know that her and I are no longer boyfriend and girlfriend, we're husband and wife now, but when we got married we decided that we would still celebrate this day because it was a major day in our relationship. For the guys out there reading this, let me tell you something: you still have to date your wife. You still have to take her out to dinner and shower her with love, affection, and gifts. Y/n got me a beautiful gift and I got her a gift that she loved. You have to be the same way that you were in the very beginning of the relationship or else you'll lose the magic. Y/n and I are still playful with each other, we still shower each other with love, affection, gifts, and lots of teasing. Happy anniversary Y/n Mendes, I love you." Shawn wrote. I smiled at him.

"That was beautiful honey." I said and Shawn smiled at me. I made a post of my own which Shawn loved. I love Shawn, and our relationship, so much.
