33. How He Looks At You

Shawn's point of view

My fiancé, Y/n Y/l/n, and I are hosting a get together at our house. It was our first time throwing a party since we got engaged, and I'm just so happy to be surrounded by some of the people that I love the most. I was sitting on the couch talking with one of my best friends, Brian Craigen. Well, he was talking to me while I stared at my fiancé. I'm just so amazed by her. She's the sweetest, kindest, smartest, most loving, and we can't forget most beautiful, person that I know.

"Dude, are you even listening?" Brian asked as he poked my arm.

"What?" I asked as I turned to him. He laughed a little.

"What are you even looking at?" He asked. I smiled as I looked back at Y/n.

"My girl, my future wife." I said. Brian groaned. I looked at him. "What?"

"You have it so bad for her, man." Brian said.

"What so it's a bad thing that I'm happy and in love?" I asked. He shook his head as he sipped his beer.

"No. I'm glad that you found her. I know that she makes you really happy." Brian said. I nodded.

"It's like, I used to be my happiest when I was on stage. But now? Now I'm my happiest when I'm with her. We don't even have to be doing anything, as long as I'm in her presence I'm happy." I said. Brian nodded.

"The way that you look at her is incredible and so beautiful. You can tell that you just love her so much." Brian said. I smiled and nodded as I looked back over at Y/n. She was talking with my friend Camila Cabello.

"Yeah. I like to call her Aphrodite at times because Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love. I love Y/n more than words could ever be able to describe. When we were still at the lake house a couple of days after we got engaged, we were sitting near the fire and she asked me how much I love her. I went on this big long speech about how much I love her and she smiled at me the whole time. Then when I was done she said 'Well no matter how much you love me, I love you more.' I swear Brian, her smile is artwork. She is artwork." I said.

"You guys are so cute that it makes me want to throw up at times." Brian said. I chuckled.

"Well it's definitely love with her. I fell for her the moment that I saw her and I instantly knew that she was the one that I want to spend the rest of my life with. And luckily I'm able to since she said yes to marrying me. I can't wait to be married to her and be husband and wife." I said.

"How much do you love her?" Brian asked. I was probably being creepy because I was still staring, while smiling, at Y/n.

"It's kind of hard to put into words, but I would do anything for her. I would go into battle for her. I would read ten thousand books for her, and you know how much I don't like to read. I'm seriously pretty sure that she put the stars in the sky, and she's the reason why things work properly and why the sun rises and falls. I love her more than words will ever be able to describe and there's nothing that I want more in life than her. She's the one, and somehow she's all mine." I said, and then I got up and went over to her. She looked over at me and smiled as she snaked her arms around my torso and I wrapped one of my arms around her shoulders and smiled at her.

"Hi baby boy. Are you having a good time?" She asked. I kissed the side of her head and nodded.

"Yup. Are you?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yeah. This is nice, having our friends with us to celebrate our engagement." She said. I nodded.

"Yeah. Did you know that I love you a whole lot?" I asked. Y/n giggled and smiled.

"Yeah. I love you a whole lot too." She said, causing my smile to widen.

"By the way Shawn, your staring didn't go unnoticed." Camila said. I tilted my head.

"What?" I asked.

"I saw you just staring at her while smiling." Camila said with a smile. I blushed, having been caught in the act.

"Listen, I can't help it when I'm engaged to the most amazing woman in the world." I said as I looked at Y/n. She smiled at me.

"I love you." She said.

"I love you too." I said. Brian then walked over.

"Y/n, can I just say that this guy is so beyond in love with you? Like he just made a little speech about how much he loves you and wow. I've never seen him like this. You make him really, really happy, and he's my best friend, so thank you for making my guy happy." Brian said. Y/n smiled at him.

"Awwww. Well you're welcome. He makes me happier than I've ever been in my whole entire life." She said. I pulled her in for a hug and then leaned down to whisper in her ear.

"I kind of wish that everyone would leave so we could just be alone." I whispered. Y/n giggled and shook her head.

"No, this is nice. Want to stick by my side for the rest of the party?" She asked. I nodded and then kissed her ear.

"Yeah. I love you honey." I said. She rubbed my arm.

"I love you too baby." She said. I looked at her and smiled. I then looked at my friends.

"Excuse us for a second please." I said. They nodded. I interlaced my fingers with Y/n's, and when our hands touched, I felt electricity spark through me yet I felt safe and warm at the same time. I brought her out onto our back deck and pulled her close to me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and she wrapped her arms around my neck and shoulders.

"Hi future hubby." She said. My smile widened.

"I can't wait until you don't have to say future. I can't wait to marry you honey. I'm so excited." I said. Y/n's smile widened.

"I'm so excited too. You're going to be legally and officially mine forever and ever." She said.

"Till death do us part." I said. She nodded and then pulled me down for a kiss. Our lips moved in sync as I felt my heart race as if I had just run a marathon, I felt sparks shoot through me like fireworks, and I felt butterflies erupt and fly around in my stomach. We finally pulled away so we could catch our breath, and I nuzzled my face into her neck.

"You okay my love?" She asked. I placed a little kiss on her neck before nodding.

"Yeah. I just really love you. Sometimes it's almost like I get overwhelmed because I have so much love for you." I said. Y/n began to run her fingers through my hair.

"Well I get that same way about you." She said. I picked up my head to look at her.

"Really?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yeah. You're the love of my life and my everything. I never want to be without you Shawn." She said. I smiled at her and rested my forehead against hers.

"Well you're the love of my life and my everything and I never want to live without you either babe, so don't worry about that." I said. Y/n took her thumb and began to rub my cheek.

"Okay. You know, I always dreamed about meeting someone and falling and love and getting these magical feelings from them, and then you made that dream come true. Thank you for that baby." She said. I gave her a kiss.

"You're welcome. Now, about how I make you feel, is it even better than how you dreamed it would be?" I asked.

"So much better. Oh my gosh. There's no one quite like you Shawn Mendes." She said.

"Well there's no one quite like you Y/n Y/l/n." I said. She smiled at me. We soon joined the party again, and spent the rest of the night glued to each other's side. There's no one like my future wife, and I love her to no end.
