November, 1991
You were standing outside of Ben's new play school, waiting for his play group to finish up.
You saw Ben's head looking at the ground as he walked out of the building, all you could see was his blond hair. "What's wrong?" You asked, getting on your knees so you were at the same level as him. "The kids are bullying me." He mumbled. "What are they doing?" You asked. "Making fun of me for having a daddy that drums." Ben said, you sighed. "They always pretend they're drumming when i walk past or start singing Queen songs." Ben started to cry and you pulled him into a hug. "Alright, we'll go home and i'll have a talk with the teacher." You tried to comfort him. "I want to see daddy." He sniffled. "Dad is at the studio, Benny." You softly said. "He's always at the studio! I want to see him!" Ben stomped his foot. "We'll go see daddy, then." You gave up, grabbing Ben's hand as you got up.
As you walked back to the car, you saw 2 kids hitting the stone wall with 2 sticks. "Wait for mum here." You said, putting Ben in his car seat and fastening the seat belt. You closed the car door and walked over to the boys. "What do you think you're doing?" You asked, getting into a squat position. "Nothing." They mumbled, throwing the sticks away. Seems like they were afraid of you. "I see you were drumming." You smiled. "Now, what does your dad do for a living?" You asked the little boy who was drumming. "Something about accounting." He mumbled, looking at the ground. "Right, now imagine i made fun of your dad for what he does as a living. Wouldn't feel that great, would it?" You said, he shook his head. "Does your daddy love his job?" You asked, the boy nodded. "Ben's daddy is doing what he loves and there's nothing wrong with that. Understand?" You said, your voice a bit sterner. The boys nodded. "Right then, go on to your mum's." You sighed, standing up and smiling at their mothers who were huge fans of Queen.

You walked into the studio, carrying Ben. "Knock, knock." You smiled. "Benny!" Roger exclaimed, opening his arms as Ben jumped out of your arms and ran into his. "How was your day?" Roger asked Ben, but he didn't respond. Instead, Ben put his head on Roger's shoulder as he carried Benny. "He's getting bullied for you being a drummer." You whispered. "How are 3 year old so vicious?" Roger scoffed. "The kids were a bit older than Ben." You said, rubbing Ben's back as Roger gave you a kiss. "Hello, love." He smiled. "Hi, Angel." You smiled back.
"He should be respected for that." Freddie rolled his eyes, coming over to you to hug you. "Hey, Freddie." You sighed, feeling his thin body. Fred smiled and pulled away. Freddie has changed a bit, he grew a beard and stopped wearing flamboyant clothes.
"Here, i'll teach you how to play the drums then you can show the kids who's boss." Roger said, sitting behind his drum kit and putting Ben on his lap. "Does mum know how to play the drums?" Ben smiled, you nodded. "Show me!" Ben cheered, jumping off Roger's lap. Roger got up and you sat down, grabbing the drumming sticks. "What do you want me to play?" You asked. "Liar!" Ben jumped up and down, Liar was his favorite song by Queen. You laughed and started to play a bit of it. "I want to be like mum and dad." Ben smiled as you stopped playing, handing the sticks to Roger. "Then you can be, darling." You said, getting up and watching as they sat down again.
You walked out of the booth and sat down next to Freddie. He looked very flushed. "You alright?" You asked him, he looked up from his lap. "Tired." Fred mumbled. "Take some rest. No point in working yourself to the core these days." You half smiled and walked back to the booth.
"We should put Ben in some sports." You suggested as Ben did what Roger told him. "What sport?" He asked. "Rugby, maybe." You shrugged your shoulders. "Ben's going to be an active one, aren't you? Drums and Rugby." Roger smiled and tickled him. Ben giggled and continued to learn.
"Where did Freddie go?" You asked, standing in the doorway of the booth. "We sent him home. He was minutes away from falling asleep." Brian sighed. "I hope he's going to be alright." You mumbled. "We all do." Brian added.
Freddie has been doing quite well, but lately he's been getting more and more tired. He's been writing songs and still be able to be upbeat about everything. He just pushes away the disease by creating music. Nothing has stopped Freddie fucking Mercury from what he loves doing.
You came home a bit late, past Ben's bedtimes and you didn't exactly want Ben to spend the whole day at the studio, but mistakes happen.
You got Ben into his pajamas and he jumped into bed. "Goodnight, Benny." You kissed his forehead. "Night mummy." Ben smiled and closed his eyes. You felt Roger's hands on your shoulders. "Goodnight." Roger said, tucking Ben into bed.
You went downstairs together and sat down on the couch. "Ben has a parent show and tell about our jobs or something?" Roger asked. "Oh yeah. Will you go? I don't exactly have a job, you see." You said, he smiled. "Sure, but i think we both have to go." Roger sighed, you nodded.
Little did you know, your lives were about to completely change.
Shit about to go down!
