I'm Being Stalked By A Ghost & Hunted By A Vampire

Part Thirty-Five

You turn your head to find Alterous standing in the doorway to the hallway, his eyes so dark, it was as if they were void of any light. He is wearing a loose black button up shirt, with form fitting dark jeans. 

You look at Eire hoping for a solution, he looks just as lost as you.

"What the f*ck do you want?" Josh looks bored as he stands up casually, you know that's a bad idea, he shouldn't be talking down to him.

You take slow steps back, "Josh, we need to get out of here." You try to keep your voice from trembling, subconsciously you bring your hand to your jaw remembering how easily he broke it. 

"Emi, I've dealt with many vampires before, this low life won't be much trouble," Josh raises his gun, aiming towards Alterous head, and shoots.

The bullets hit the target, dead-center. Alterous's head jerks back, making his face look up towards the ceiling.

You stand still, afraid to move as Eire grabs a hold of your hand, "It won't work."

You find yourself unable to look away from scene unfolding "It won't be enough!" you shout before you could stop yourself.

Josh gives you an annoyed glance but quickly places it back towards the vampire, whose head snapped back suddenly.

He tilts his head to the side as the bullets drop one by one to the floor. The tension increases as Ryan, Greg, and Peter stand looking disturbed.

Madelyn steps back from Josh as Alterous smirks slightly, amused over the drastic change in demeanor.

He is beside Josh in a flash; before you could blink, Josh is thrown to the other side of the cafeteria.

"Let's make this simple" His voice comes out in a harsh whisper that gives you goosebumps, his amusement gone, and replaced with annoyance, "I am here for her."

He points towards you as Madelyn slowly steps back from you, your completely appalled by her behaviour, what did you expect though.

"Seriously Maddie?"

"If you refuse, death will follow." Ryan glares as Peter prepares for a fight "Greg, watch Emi. Madelyn, check Josh, and then get out of here. Ryan, you stick with me." Peter commands the group as they follow the order.

You watch as Madelyn looks over Josh as Ryan and Peter stand in front, blocking Alterous from you. Greg is beside you, prepared to flee if the situation calls for it.

"Now, what's a low level vampire like you coming after my girl?" Ryan gives Peter an incredulous stare, coughing slightly, looking taken back.

Alterous, lips twitch slightly, amused "Yours?" he sounds as if he doesn't believe it. You feel like the Peter you once knew, the scared, quiet boy no longer exists. He has such confidences, you almost do an anime fall.
