Part Fifty-One

Hasten' POV

You stand irritated, how dare Rumor keep you from seeing your Accessory. It was bad enough that you had to let him take her here tonight, but Rumor telling you to stand back angers you more than anything.

You have no choice but to listen to him with the elders close by. You silently brood as you glance around the room.

The girl on the ground has been picked up and taken away. Seeing her go through that reminds you of when Emi broke.

The way she responded to that girls pain, you have never seen anything like it before. Mind you, you've never had a broken accessory in the presences of an accessory breaking. There is still much we don't understand.

The party continues with dinner being served. Emi and Rumor have yet to return, making you somewhat concerned.

You could still hear her heartbeat; she has calmed down, so why are they taking so long to come back. You stand impatiently waiting for their return.

Dinner has passed and some of the guest have gotten up and started mingling in the center again. Emi's and Rumors plate is left untouched. Sven starts looking around uneasily, which starts to make you feel uneasy.

With all the commotion coming from the crowds, you could not hear Emi anymore.

A flash of movement catches your attention to the ceiling. Before you could react, three of the eight chandeliers plummet to the ground. They shatter sending everyone into a panic.

You run to the table, noticing some guest trapped beneath the wreckage. Two more fall, luckily missing the intended victims who are more aware of what is going on.

You stand by Avent as Alex comes to your side watching with horror-stricken faces as the building erupts into shrill screams and chatter that's almost deafening.

You hear the doors open and turn to find Sven standing in the doorframe, looking frantically around.

"RUMOR!"

He leaves the room searching the balcony madly. He does one last desperate sweep and jumps the rails.

You do not need to go out there to know she is not there. For a split second, you thought Rumor took her, but he would not leave without Sven. A dull throb pinches at your insides as you kill the emotions and focus on the situation at hands. Nothing is written in stone, not yet, there is no need to worry.

"What's going on?" Someone shouts as Solaris stands pointing off into the distance "Are those Nybras?!" She points out as you watch, almost amused on what is happening. How the hell did they get in here? They must have a death wish to show up.

"Alex, take the left, I'll handle the right. Let's try to wrap this shit up." You both jump from the stage, along with the other members of Ayperos and head into battle.

With the amount of clans here, the battle does not last long. By the time things start clearing up, Sven had returned. He looked frantic, almost ballistic as he watches the room sharply.

"I take it you have not found them?" You ask as Sven glares sharply. He turns away, looking towards Solaris. "You. Where is he?" Solaris glances back, looking lost, "I can't see him."

The dull throb shoots through your chest again, "Not even her?" You ask before you could stop yourself.

"No." She shakes her head, looking distressed "I haven't been able to see her since she broke." You feel slightly annoyed over her answer, "That information could have been useful, when did you planning on sharing this?" she glares nimbly, "I was trying to figure it out on my own." You sigh, the stress of this situation becoming much more bothersome.
