Part Thirty-Seven

Emi POV!!

"I can't get used to your eyes" Madelyn states as Ryan rolls his.
"That's rude Madelyn, it's not like Emi had a choice in the matter." Madelyn glares at Ryan and leaves the table, you have a feeling something bad had occurred last night, because you woke up sandwiched between Peter and Ryan.

The whole house managed to sleep through the morning, waking up unwilling around two when Josh demolished the fort you built.

You are now eating a sandwich Peter made for you, staring off into the distance. You feel so happy here, carefree, not thinking of a single thing that could go wrong. You try to keep your mind off Hasten; you don't need to have a connection to know that he is seriously mad.

"What are you thinking about Emi?" you glance at Greg, "Hasten." You say truthfully, withholding information is what got you into this mess to begin with. You wonder how different this situation would be if you just told everyone what was really happening.

Ryan's crosses his eyebrows, clearly annoyed "You shouldn't be thinking of him," he scowls "Ryan," You frown, "I have to return to him, you heard Ryzil, he has a blood bond with Hasten, he'll tell him where I am."

Peter sits quietly poking at his dish, "But look what he's done to you," Ryan points to your eyes; you feel a sharp jab of pain in your chest.

"Do you honestly think he will just let me stay here? He will come, and if he has to take me back by force there will be grave repercussions for both parties." You shiver as Ryan looks as if he's been slapped across the face.

"Have you little faith in our ability? I know we have messed up in the past but we are fully capable in taking care of this situation. I've taken his kind out before," You feel your anger starting to get the best of you;

"They weren't prepared! Do you think you will have the same outcome? They are stronger; Rumor, Sven, and Avent are not weak. They will overpower you! I'm pretty sure River isn't going to stay out of it either." You find your voice was louder than you intended.

"You think that it was a fluke? That I killed him on accident?" you keep your mouth shut, you really don't understand the situation, you don't really know your friends as well as you thought.

"I'm not saying that-" "It's pretty clear what you're saying"

You stand up, knowing you're being dramatic, but you feel if this conversation continued, you may not have a friend after it. You leave the kitchen as Josh glances at Ryan "Two for Two Dude, you are on a roll today."

You find yourself back in Peter's room, you fall onto the bed, and grab a pillow, holding it close as you try to keep the tears from falling. If only there was some way to make Hasten forget about Ryan.

Killing Hastens brethren was so stupid; you know nothing will change his mind.

They will die if you remain here. You stand up, looking out the window "It's not that far of a drop, two stories, tops" you open the window, if they weren't going to let you go back then this is your only option.

You pull the screen back, ready to jump "Leaving so soon?"

You turn your head sharply, noticing Greg in the doorway.

You turn back to the window, sighing as Greg enters the room. "You realize you would break or sprain something." You took it into consideration, "I was hoping I would land it right." Greg chuckles.
