You stand frozen; Alterous is sitting in the head chair, his legs crossed, and head tilted and resting on his hand which is being propped up by the elbow of his chair. Your heart stops as you feel an alarming sense to run. How will you make it out of this one, there is no one to help you.
You stand still for what seems like an eternity. His amused expression never ceases, as if his glare was penetrating your soul, peering deep inside, it made you uncomfortable.
"Care to have a seat?" he asks, his voice intense, it effected your physical being, making your body tremble with every sound he made. Before you could make sense of your own thoughts, you find yourself joining him at the table.
You look around confused but turn your attention fully on Alterous. You stare into his black eyes, feeling a dull throb at the back of your head. You both stare silently at each other; you seem to have lost your voice.
You are too frightened to speak so you bring your gaze down to your lap, unsure of what you are doing here.
"Do you care for an evening meal?" his voice was smooth and seductive but it was callous, cold blooded, and uncaring. It is a strange thing to describe, but it was as if he was void of compassion.
"I'm okay." You whisper. He chuckles; sending a cold shiver through your spine, making your hairs stand.
"Why are you shaking?" His voice is sending familiar vibes through you, almost a warning signs. It was too playful, this is probably a game to him. You cannot act scared, you cannot appear timid.
"I'm just a little cold." You reply in your most steadiest voice possible. He tilts his head to the side, a gleam of amusement arousing inside.
"I could turn the fire up," his voice dwindles off, "That would be nice." you speak. You keep your back straight and shoulders level, trying to appear bigger.
"Trying to act tough?" the whisper came from behind you. He's no longer in his seat so you turn your head fast and only to find he is no longer behind you, you begin to falter in your act.
"It's okay to be frighten, you are only human." You stay in your seat, knowing you cannot get away from him.
"I bet you are wondering why you're here?" You jump when he appears beside you; he is too close for your comfort, which causes you to lean away.
"Yes." You firmly state. His smile is cruel, with no light shining in his eyes. You felt as if you are being suffocated when you stare for too long. You have to keep looking away, "You are very important Emily."
A shiver slowly spreads throughout your body whenever he says your name; it leaves you breathless.
"You can still feel our connection. Even though you are broken, my accessory prevails over that of the Ayperos. How delightful." He looks pleased with this knowledge but it leaves you confused, "But I've been broken, I'm not longer an accessory." He raises an eyebrow, surprised that you spoke so clear.
