Hasten POV

You stand outside your snow covered home on the outskirts of Emi's hometown. You've already looked through three countries and still have come up short.

You hoped that she may have come back here but that's looking bleak. You enter your home, aware that you have company before you even set foot on the premises.

No one spoke as you entered; they have come accustomed to your silence these last two months, aware of your short temper.

Having Emi gone has been quite the nuisance, but with Rumor following in suit, has turned this into a large clan issue. The elders have been on your case since the banquet, leaving that dimwit Luke to trail your every move, and report everything to the high council. You feel your temperature rise as you think of him.

You find Avent sitting in the booth with Solaris, River, Alex, and Sven. Sven looks like hell, his hair unkempt, his clothes are grungy and wrinkled while his eyes look tired, a bit of red showing through, he must not have eaten for a while.

Solaris looks determined, as she always does, but is having a hard time dealing with her powers being useless. She has probably never had to look hard for anything in her life.

River looks as if he would rather be elsewhere, while Alex looks just as bothered as Sven. "Any luck?" Avent asks, as you shake your head no.

"We have a lead coming from Portugal, Lisbon." Luke was sitting at the island, laptop in front as his black hair gleams from the electronic light.

He is wearing his professional uniform, which is a form fitted black top, with a belt full of useless gadgets that a vampire shouldn't even need, and matching black pants.

You assume he was going for a stealth look, but you could not be bothered to fret over his poor choice in clothing.

"We shouldn't. I was just there." Solaris speaks up as you find you agitation for this man growing more.

"Why don't you go check it out?" Alex snaps, glaring daggers at Luke. Luke ignores Alexs outburst and goes back to his computer. You walk over and lean against the breakfast nook that everyone seemed to crowd around.

"Nothing in Poland." You state. "I was sure they would be here." Solaris says as her large eyes show her dejection.

"I wouldn't be so hard on yourself. They're out there; we just have to work harder." Avent soothes Solaris' worry as you find yourself even more annoyed.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me." You seethe under your breath. "How can we not find them? We have connections from the High council and you're telling me we can't locate them? How fucking useless is this system?" Alex smashes his fist into the table, making a large crack through the wood.

"You have no idea." You crudely state as you catch Luke staring daggers towards you.

"I feel like going country to country is a bad plan, they could be on the move for all we know." You find yourself staring at Avent, who has made a crucial point. "What else is there to do?" Solaris asks, defeat seeming the only possible outcome.

You notice a change in the air, almost as if the temperature has dropped. You watch as the attention at the table turns to something behind you. You follow the direction of their gaze, your eyes landing on the new visitor.

There stood a young man, his hair black and wisped off to the side. His eyes are void of light, like a black hole. His pale blue skin and dark clothing seem to add on to the macabre theme he has going for himself.
