fuck, i'm actually sobbing!

It all happened so quickly.

You can barely even remember the deafening explosion, hundreds of voice moulding into a chorus of screams. You can't even recall the building falling to pieces in front of your eyes, fear coursing through your veins like fire as everything went black.

What you do remember is the moments before that.

Jimin's hand in yours, his lips pressing the lightest of kisses to your jawline as he softly giggled about something you said. His smile, reminding you of what true beauty is as he pulled you onto his lap, attacking your neck with kisses. His voice, murmuring the sweetest of nothings into your ear as you playfully swatted him away.

Then his eyes.

Eyes so kind and pure, holding enough fear for the both of you as he screams out your name, lunging for you just as the ceiling above comes falling down.

You rise slowly, coughing and wheezing as more of the smoke enters your lungs. Everything hurts, that you know for sure. Blood coats your hand as you swipe at your head but that's not what you're worried about.

"Jimin," you hoarsely scream, "are—where—are you okay?"

There's a slight sob from a few meters away. Ignoring the black dots in your line of vision, you stumble over, falling to your knees in front of a crying Jimin.

"You're okay—thank god—you're okay," he chokes out, reaching for your face to wipe the tears that roll down your cheeks. Then he hisses, letting out another sob.

You look past his shoulder, gasping at the giant pile of cement on his lower half. He's crushed, you think to yourself, hands desperately trying to move the pieces.

"Baby," Jimin calls, grabbing your wrist weakly. "Go get help, okay? Get out of here and find someone. It'll be okay—shh, don't cry—we'll be fine."

He motions for you to come closer, capturing your lips a panicked but slow kiss, tears dripping on the pile of blood pooling from his head. You get up, nodding frantically as you slip out the doorway.

Only, you stop, looking back at him.

He watches you, the softest of grins on his face. There's something swimming in those eyes of his but you have no energy to decipher what it is. Giving him one last lingering look, you run, following the sound of the sirens.

He chuckles, exhaling heavily as his final tear rolls down his cheek, head lolling to the side.

He did what he had to do to save you.
