SECRET LOVE SONG

Warm lips meet your skin, the tingling feeling that comes from the action stirring you from your comforting sleep, your chapped lips angling down into a frown. Lazily, you crack your eyelids open, sighing when your once blurry vision clears to reveal an apologetic looking Taehyung, his lips just centimetres away from your forehead.

"Morning, baby," he whispers, running his fingers through your hair as you slowly stretch your arms out, groaning quietly under your breath. You hum an incoherent greeting back, smiling softly as your eyes begin to flutter shut. He chuckles to himself, pressing another kiss to your head.

"Sorry for waking you up," he mumbles, pulling away from you as you frown from the sudden lack of warmth. "I have to go to work now, okay?"

Nodding slowly, you roll onto your side and attempt to go back to sleep as he goes to take his leave, but a sudden thought has you grabbing onto his wrist, tugging him back as he looks down at you curiously.

"When will you be back?" You rasp, propping yourself up on your elbow as he casts you yet another apologetic look, crouching down to cup your face. You lean into his touch, the faint scent of sweet vanilla making you sigh in content. So badly do you want to pull him back into bed with you and cuddle with him until the late afternoon.

"Late," he murmurs. "We have to start preparing for that awards show that's on next week."

You nod, hiding your disappointment with a small smile as he pulls away for the last time and gently closes the bedroom door behind him, leaving you in the cold darkness of your room. Pushing down the nagging feeling of loneliness, you throw yourself back onto your pillow and bunch the blankets up to your chest, craving the warmth that only he can give you.

But alas, while being the Kim Taehyung's secret girlfriend has its obvious perks, there are also the expected downsides.

While the company has nothing against your relationship with Taehyung, they did request that the pair of you try your hardest to keep it a secret from the public for as long as you can. Not only for the safety of his reputation but for your safety too. There have been many stories shared about the non famous girlfriends of idols being harassed by fans.

Taehyung has made sure—for about two years and counting—that you are kept safe and hidden away; his rare gem as he so affectionately refers to you as.

So, of course, that in itself has its limitations; all of which contribute to the list of downsides.

There's no going out together in public and if you really wanted to, it must be with three bodyguards and a personal driver. And most importantly, no television appearances together so while you may have been hoping for the moment where you walk down the line of cameras attached to Taehyung's arm, it will always remain a fantasy.
