After their not so little session Mikuni went searching for something to eat but then he remembered they only had some pasta and soup left. And not that he was picky but none of those looked appealing to him at the moment and he needed to put some sugar in his system if he wanted to come up with a reply for his father. At this point it wasn't urgent to be honest but he sort of wanted to settle it once and for all. And eventhough he was fine with Jeje he'd at least like to reconciliate. Problem was that despite this he was still angry and upset and he knew he wouldn't write anything good if he was to work on this right now. That's why he had intended to eat something first but he clearly wasn't satisfied with what was in the cupboard.
Jeje, though he didn't need to eat, generally took meals with his eve because even he could get eating alone wasn't nice. And he had to admit Mikuni had good taste so he actually enjoyed it most of the time. And since they never stayed anywhere for long they often ordered food from restaurants or just grabbed something in the nearest shop they could find. At this hour most of them were probably closed, but Jeje still wanted to get his eve something better than that. And it would be the first time they would go for a date, too. Well, technically. The servamp wondered if it wasn't too much of a pathetic excuse to go, he could have been more romantic and take him out without specific reason. Not that Mikuni would complain. Make fun of him, that he would do, but only because hearing Jeje suggest going on a date would be cute to him and instead of stating it he would mask it with a joke.
When he heard him sigh in defeat and saw him grab a pack of pasta Jeje stopped overthinking and spoke up.
-" You know, Mikuni... we could always eat outside. I mean... it's late but some restaurants must still be open. Well, if you want, of course..."
The blonde turned to look at him but didn't immediatly answer, he looked like he was a bit taken aback actually. Jeje wasn't really surprised as he rarely ever made suggestions but rather followed his eve's decisions. So he naturally wasn't surprised by the other man's reply, either.
-" Jeje." Mikuni said almost cautiously. "Are you asking me out on a date?"
"W-well I guess... that's- at first it was just to find you something nicer to eat... but you see, I...it's not like it's the first time we go..." the taller one muttered, becoming more and more inaudible as embarassment took over him and he tried to explain clearly but it was hopeless.
Mikuni tried not to smile too much as he prompted him to continue.
-" it will be the first since we... Well you know, and I always let you decide but for some reason you didn't mention going out although you don't want to eat that and I- "
" And so you took the initiative. I'm so flattered the so shy Jeje decided to ask me out."
"... but you did this on purpose, didn't you?" The servamp started to understand why the other didn't just declare they were going out a few minutes ago. And he didn't know if he should get mad or let it slide.
-" Please don't glare at me Jeje. I am not mocking you, I just wanted to see if you'd actually make the suggestion yourself. Also, believe me or not, I was kinda scared to ask. Precisely because it's the first time since we're more than servamp and eve and I, too, thought it could be awkward."
"... I... I understand. Mikuni?"
"Yes?" The blonde said putting the pack back in the cupboard."
"Do you... I mean, can I take you out for dinner... please?" Jeje asked. There again he expected him to laugh, but it never came.
"Yes, of course. I'd be honoured, darling." Mikuni answered brightly. Jeje was out of breath, both because of his beautiful face and the nickname.
"Oh, maybe you liked 'sweetheart' more. Yeah, 'darling' is too-"
"Let's just go." Jeje said turning around.
"But Jeje, tell me which one you prefer!" Mikuni whined making him stop in his tracks.
"...'Jeje'." He replied.
"Uh?"
"'Jeje' is the name I prefer." He reapeated pulling his bag further on his face. Mikuni downright squealed.
"Wait, let me hug you! Jejeeee!!"
------------------------------------------- a few hours later-----------------------------------
Mikuni kept squeezing Jeje's arm as they walked back to his shop, feeling as if he was on a little cloud. The other had tried telling him it was difficult to walk this way but soon gave up. Mikuni took note he practically never used his guns anymore, even by reflex, and was satisfied with this statement. Their dinner hadn't been that awkward, they had talked as usual-well Mikuni had while Jeje mostly listened- and the eve had the decency to make sure no one was watching before taking a bite from the servamp's plate.
-" Nee, Jeje." He said rubbing his face on his sleeve. Doubt Doubt had hesitated to stop him when he took his fifth glass of alcohol but they were having a good time. Plus a drunk Mikuni was just more cuddly and childish, which was admittedly annoying but also endearing.
-" Yes?" Jeje answered.
" After walking me home, you must give me a kiss."
"First, we live together. Secondly... You can have one anytime."
"Then, can you kiss me now?" Mikuni said, eyelids fluttering.
"...Actually, let's go back first."
Since Mikuni was both drunk and tired he didn't argue and resumed squeezing Jeje's arm. They walked for a few more minutes and then Jeje opened the door. Mikuni immediatly took a glass of water and then went searching for something else.
-" What are you doing?" Jeje asked. It seemed the blonde had a precise idea of what he wanted but despite that he searched randomly.
"I need a pen and a paper."
Jeje blinked. "This can wait, doesn't it?"
"No, I'd better do it now. It won't take long."
Knowing well what his partner had to do and seeing he was being stubborn Jeje just gave in and handed him something to write. He saw Mikuni scribe several words without thinking, as if they just came out naturally, and he had to admit it wasn't such a bad thing to do it while drunk because it's a well-known fact people tend to speak their minds more openly in this case. At least it was true for some of his acquitances. After he was done Mikuni neatly folded the paper and put it on the table.
-"I will deliver it tomorrow." He declared in a sleepy voice. " Now I want to go to bed. Jeje. You didn't give me my kiss." He pouted.
"Go change, I'm coming."
" Fine."
Mikuni went to their bedroom and Jeje quickly glanced at what he had written. His eve would be mad if he knew and the taller one nearly never did this kind of thing but it was important and he had to check the blonde didn't write anything tendentious. Thinking it should be fine like this he folded it back and went to his partner, only to find him already sleeping in an oversized shirt. He put a blanket and pecked him on the forehead-he had promised a kiss, after all- but didn't join him in bed. He went back downstairs and looked at the paper for ten minutes straight, wondering if he should do what he was thinking about. He could definitly make Mikuni angry if he did, but he was convinced he had to go. And no matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn't imagine things getting out of hand with what he had in mind. He was sure, for the first time in ages, that he was making the right choice.
So, guess who is back! Jokes aside I'd like to thank everyone who still read this for their patience and I also wanted to share my joy because exams are almost over and I will have more time to write (at least that's what I'm hoping for.) This was a fluffy chapter, well consider it as an apology. A big thanks to you all.
