Jeje and Mikuni hugged for a long moment, long enough for the both of them to stop crying. The eve wouldn't avert his eyes from the golden ring Jeje had just put on his finger, and he was still mesmerized. He knew their disappearence wouldn't go unnoticed by their guests, even more so since they were gathered for their very own birthdays, but he had literally lost track of time.
-" I could stay like this with you forever..." he whispered, nuzzling Jeje's shoulder.
The latter smiled wider if it was possible, and he pulled his eve in a tighter embrace.
-" I certainly wouldn't mind... but we should probably go back, or else the party could be ruined."
"Aw, that's too bad... I wouldn't want to upset Misono and the others, especially not since they put so much effort for us. And yet, part of me is beginning to curse this gathering." Mikuni answered truthfully, albeit keeping his happy smile on.
"Well," Jeje said in turn, "I'm sure they'd understand if we asked for some privacy later on."
Mikuni then offered him a playful grin. "I sure am impatient to have 'privacy' with you, Dear. Then, before we go back, what do you think about opening my presents for you ? " He continued, holding out a neatly decorated paper bag. Jeje stared at it amazed and took it gently, as if avoiding to crumple the bag or worse, break a fragile present. His eve watched as he opened it ever so slowly and was delighted when he saw Jeje's eyes sparkling. Taking the glass bottle in his hands with the greatest care, he could now make out different shapes and objects, but the container in itself was enough to bring joy in his heart.
-" This is the nicest bottle I got in a while. Thank you... I can already imagine myself making a ship to fit inside. And I... love your idea of putting other presents in it." Jeje said in a voice filled with emotion. Mikuni chuckled. " Well, I found it quite romantic, especially when I considered your obsession with ships in bottles. Also, this one is more than convenient, as it's bigger than the ones you generally use. Seems like you will be busy building that boat for a while." He added a joking tone at the end, to which Jeje could only agree.
"I think, when it's over, I want to offer you the ship."
"Eh? Why? You should add it to your collection instead."
However, Jeje shook is head. "No, I... want it to be our bottled ship. Like a memory... that way, when we'll look at it in several decades and even centuries, we'll both remember today."
Mikuni blinked, a pleasant warmth sinking in his chest. "Pfft... you're definitly more of a romantic than I am." He laughed, his hand half hiding his face in embarassment. His other one found Jeje's forearm and stroke it. "Okay, then. After all, it's up to you to decide what you do with it. "
The taller male smiled again, leaning in to kiss Mikuni's cheek. The latter flustered while his servamp finally opened the bottle to discover his other presents. There were tools, all useful to the making of his ships, which was coherent with the rest of Mikuni's project, but also a pretty paper the eve had carefully rolled. Curious, Jeje barely took time to admire the patterns in the corners, and he was out of breath when the words written were processed by his brain.
Dear Jeje ,
I love you forever and always. I know this may sound like an abrupt start, but I think it's important that you fully understand how much those feelings keep invading me. Also, I know that we've repeatedly told each other how we felt and why we couldn't be close before. But, you see, this is exactly my point. I couldn't help thinking I had just wasted precious time with you during all those years. You made me realize that I wasn't honest enough to myself, and it helped me understand a lot of things. Like how to deal with my emotions, for instance. I decided not to dwell on the past anymore, and yet I couldn't stop imagining what it could have been like to start a healthy relationship with you sooner. That's how much you keep haunting my thoughts. And then, I learned that even I could eventually become lucky. First, when you confessed to me and accepted to forget about the resentment I had towards you. Second, when you explained to me we could actually live on together and forever. When you asked to move forward by my side, I never dreamt the day would come when you'd propose to make me a vampire. Ever since this moment, I am impatient to finally be able to be by your side for eternity. I think you get it by now, but I don't mind entrusting my life to you, be it for a second or for thousands of years. And, as I realized that, I made another decision. I want us to be connected in every possible way. I want it so much that I'm ready to go miles away from my home. Mariage between men is illegal in Japan, but that won't stop me. If you are fine with it, I'd want to sign an official paper that will prove our love. Until death makes us apart, even if I don't believe it will be anytime soon. Oh and, I know you won't fancy a long, boring ceremony during which you should preferably show your face. I'm fine with just signing the papers, as long as you stay with me. You'll always be the only one I need.
Mikuni
Jeje could feel tears streaming down his cheeks, not that he minded. Mikuni had been on the same wavelenght as him from the start, to the point that they actually shared the exact same thoughts.
-" Oh, um... I'm sorry, Jeje... I didn't mean to make you cry twice... and not the same day, at that. But, well... at least now we both know our desires are mutual. I mean... I didn't expect you to actually propose, eventhough you're the one who suggested to make me an immortal like you." Mikuni said, his voice trembling.
Jeje merely unsticked the two plane tickets Mikuni had put at the bottom of the letter, the tears not stopping.
-" Don't worry about that. I'm glad... I can still cry for someone. And I... want to sign those papers as soon as possible."
Mikuni's eyes shined with fondness as he slightly brushed Jeje's lips, a silent request formed by the tip of his fingers. His other hand was yet again being held by his lover, a light pressure being exerced as he instinctively squeezed. Jeje smiled in their shared kiss, and when they both pulled away Mikuni actually began to think it was time to go back.
However, before he could suggest Jeje to move, he heard the sound of rustling grass and a not so distant voice calling to them.
-" Hey, Kuni-chan, Jeje-chan~ Everyone is hungry and wondering where you went. What are y-"
"Geez, Tsurugi! Don't be so loud, we're coming! And respect people's privacy you damn dog! " Mikuni said in a hurry, trying to chase the raven away. Jeje's face was uncovered and his eyes, still teary, so the blond's first reflex was to hide him. In a mid panic, he shoved the vampire's head in his chest, glaring in Tsurugi's direction.
-"Mean ! I was just checking on you! You wouldn't want your pumpkin pie to be eaten before Jeje-chan had a slice, would you?"
"You're right about that, so be useful and make sure it remains untouched until I come back!"
"Fine, fine. But let Jeje-chan breathe, okay? You sure are holding on tight~"
Despite his ckeeks reddening, Mikuni's hold didn't decrease until he made sure Tsurugi was out of sight. Letting his servamp go at last, he noticed the raven's irruption had surprised Jeje enough to stop crying for good. Sighing, he placed the bags on his head, then stood back up.
-" So... want a bite of that pie?"
Jeje nodded, taking care of securing his goods before going.
Meanwhile, Tsurugi went back to report to the others, humming. When everyone stared at him expectantly, some of them already smiling knowingly, he simply smirked and said, "they are the most beautiful, emotional lovebirds alive. "
