"Mikuni, you bastard..." Misono growled, making his brother sweatdrop.
"Eh... you shouldn't insult your big brother like that, you know."
"Don't you play dumb right now. You fucker, you actually have no sense of manners at all nor do you know what is common sense, uh? Do you have the slightest idea of how much you made everyone worry? Shirota called me late in the evening, wondering how your little meeting went. And he was quite confused when I told him you had left the house, since you apparently never came to his like originally planned. Seriously, where the hell are you? " And that's how Mikuni got a lecture by his younger brother. Again.
-" Well, first of all, calling Mahiru-kun wasn't our top priority, sorry. I don't know if you noticed, but there's been a very big storm yesterday. Second of all, I will apologize after you're done yelling at me." He said half joking half serious. Misono clicked his tongue.
-" Yeah, well, I wouldn't have to if you weren't so careless. So how are you guys doing? "
"Fine, actually. Perfect, even. We're at my antique store. Jeje is a real sweetie, I'm not sure I deserve him."
"You certainly don't." Misono scoffed.
"That's so mean! But... jokes aside, I'm starting to think it was fate. All of this. I can't explain it, it's just as if even the painful events were just meant to bring us together in the end." Mikuni said with a smile.
"Things like this do exist, I suppose... by the way, Lily insisted that we come give you some other stuff. I don't think it will be possible today, but we'll try passing by soon. Maybe by the end of the week."
"You guys are the best. Is everything alright with dad? I mean, he's not making life difficult for you, is he?" His voice suddenly sounded less cheerful.
"No, it's fine... rather, we haven't talked at all. I intend to have a discussion with him at some point, though."
"Maybe it'd be best if you didn't. You did more than enough, there is no point in making him angry at you, too."
"That's why I'm waiting for him to calm down. And just so you know, I'm not doing it for you. I just want to understand what he's thinking about." Misono declared in his 'tsundere like' behaviour.
"Sure thing, little bro. Would be easier getting Lily not to strip, though."
"Ugh, don't mention it. This had to be the only good point of him losing his jinn... I think." The loss of jinn had been traumatic for all of them, and it was still a sensitive subject. "At any rate, father certainly doesn't hate you. "
"Yeah, right." Mikuni didn't entirely believe that.
"No, seriously, I saw how happy he was when you came back. I'm positive I will eventually be able to get the truth out of him."
"I don't really care. Whatever the reason behind his actions, if he doesn't accept Jeje I can't forgive him. I don't expect him to like my servamp, that'd be too selfish, but if he cares about me as you said then he should at least let me be with the person who makes me happy."
Misono sighed. "Oh my, look at what love has done to you. Saying crappy cheesy lines like that is so different from your usual annoying self."
Mikuni was outraged and began complaining because "my brother doesn't respect me" and "I thought you loved me". This went on until the blonde noticed a tall figure standing in the doorway. He immediatly stopped talking which also surprised Misono.
-"What's wrong? You're done whining?"
"Ah, yeah... sorry Misono, I think I should send a text to Mahiru-kun now." In reality he just wanted to know how much Jeje had heard. "I'm sorry I'm making things so difficult for you."
