Mikuni led Lily and his brother to the only tiny table they had and wanted to go make tea but he was stopped in his tracks.

-" Ah, Mikuni, don't bother. I thought maybe you didn't have many stuff here so I brought a thermos." The blonde vampire said, making the eve blink.

-"Uh, I didn't think you were the kind of person to buy that."

"And how should someone who uses a thermos look like, according to you?" Misono asked. " It just happens to be useful in that kind of circumstances."

"Aw, Misono, are you implying you bought one out of consideration for me?" Mikuni squealed.

"Wh-what, no way, like I said it is more practical for me and-"

"Du-uh no, that isn't what you said~ It makes me happy so no need to deny it~"

The teen had nothing to ripost with so he turned away blushing while Jeje who had kept quiet until then intervened.

"Uhm, so... how is it going for you...?" He asked in his usual low voice. He would rather let Mikuni do all the speaking but it seemed he was too busy teasing his little brother and even he was getting embarassed for him. Also he sympathized with him because he knew very well how it felt being the victim of his eve's jokes. And for the umpteenth time he wasn't a masochist but he sort of minded less and less. It was a form of attention, as strange as it was.

Anyways, Lily replied with a soft and reassuring smile. "It is quite fine. Misono talked to Mr Mikado and it seems it was a constructive discussion. I mean, they didn't argue, at least. And... Ms Erina came by before they had their talk, actually."

The envy pair was surprised, shocked even. They thought she hated them, so why would she...?

-" I had the same reaction, to be honest." Misono said seeing their faces. "And don't worry, it wasn't to plead our dad or rush that damn wedding thing. When I arrived in dad' s office she was trying to dissuade him. Unbelievable, right?"

It was, Mikuni had to admit. He thought at best he wouldn't hear about this story anymore but that Erina herself went to try and convince Mikado to forget about it... It was surreal.

-" And do you know why did she bother doing this? I don't think it was in her interest."

To that Misono answered flatly. "Not everyone does things in their own interest, you know. Just because you have a natural talent for plotting questionable plans doesn't mean there are other people who do."

Mikuni looked absolutely outraged, and while Jeje wanted to argue he knew it was logical for most people to doubt him given all that happened. But it didn't mean he had enjoyed doing it, either. They all used to fight with what weapon they could, that was all. And never again was any of them going to have doing this. He hoped. Meanwhile, Mikuni had started pouting, as if it would make his brother feel bad for what he said. Which was obviously not going to happen but hey, he could dream.

-" Ahem. I didn't mean to be this harsh, sorry." Misono unexpectedly said.

'It actually worked.' Jeje thought.

-" Well, anyways, she said it had never been her parents' will to see you two get married so they won't be a problem. It degenerated into this situation because - and I want you to believe it- dad used her feelings and the arranged marriage for your sake."

Mikuni was seriously going to protest but Misono didn't let him.

-" No, let me finish. He wrote you a letter since it was easier for him to sort his thoughts and he knew it would end up poorly if you two tried to talk it through again. You both need more time to think and learn how to communicate again. But, really, his intentions were never to hurt you. I know it for a fact because his methods to protect me were as dubious as that."
