Endgame spoilers.

Note from the writer;
I have been working on this imagine for days, I have put so much time and heart into creating this and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Please let me know what you think, I hope you all love this chapter. Endgame somehow still makes me emotional so writing this kind of helped me express some feelings.

Note about the story;
The reader(you) was in a relationship with _______ (Avenger). Before Thanos arrived to earth and killed half of all living things, you passed away unexpectedly. While the Avengers are time travelling to retrieve all the infinity stones, he/she sees you for the first time since your death. This imagine is very sad but has a lot of fluff.

Steve Rogers;
Setting:  New York , 2012. (The Avengers)
In this imagine you were apart of the original Avengers team and fought alongside them during the invasion on New York.

"Alright we all have our assignments. Two stones uptown, one stone down. Stay low, keep an eye on the clock" Steve directed, before the group broke off into separate ways.

New York was wreaked, buildings demolished while aliens swarmed the empty streets and even the skies. Steve darted his way through all the rubble and remains, trying to make it to the stone as fast as possible.

"Damn it" he grunted noticing that his past self and Natasha's past self were positioned right in his path. Quickly, he made a sharp turn into an ally only resulting in him crashing into another body.

"Woah Cap slow down" said a soft voice. Steve knew that voice anywhere. His eyes finally met with yours, his heart dropped.

"Y/n" he whispered. Steve instantly felt tears well up in his eyes, the pain of losing you has never gone away or even faded. Time has made it no easier to be without you. Steve had wished for a day where he could be with you again, but now that it's here, he is speechless.

Steve stared for a few moments, you quickly noticed the tears escape his eyes and fall down his cheeks. Without saying a word he pulled you into his chest, hugging you tightly.

"What's wrong?" you asked sweetly, wrapping your arms around his neck. Steve placed a kiss to the side of your head still hugging you tenderly.

"I love you" he responded, his tears fell into your hair.

You held onto him, unsure of what was going on which only made you more concerned. Steve has never been this affection towards you, in fact you guys haven't even become a couple yet. Steve could barely look at you without blushing so him being touchy and emotional with you was surprising.

"I love you too" you hummed grinning like a fool. You were insanely happy to hear him say that considering you've been in love with him for some time.

"Are those tears of joy?" you ask cluelessly. Steve smiled at you softly, tears still falling down his cheek. He nodded at you as he pulled away from the hug, again your eyes met. "Yes darling, they are" he responded.

"Steve, I got an eye on the tesseract" Tony announced through his ear piece. Steve was suddenly brought back to reality, he remembered his mission and remembered that this was the last time he would be with you.

His heart was breaking all over again.

"Anyway I have find Thor, we'll talk later?" you asked placing a hand on his arm.

Steve could feel his tears threatening to fall again, he could feel himself begin to break. Steve pulled you back into his chest, he held onto you tightly savouring his very last moment with you. He placed another kiss to the side of your head before pulling away for the second time.
