Ring ring ring!

I can definitely say I love waking up on game day! I play for the NWSL, it's the best way to get recognized. My bad, let me introduce myself. I'm Sage Wilder, I'm the oldest of 3. I am a 27 year old gay women. I  graduated from Stanford with a degree in science. I was born and raised in New Jersey. I've played with Washington Spirit, and now currently Houston Dash. I've been working my butt off to be recognized by Jill Ellis. My dream is to play for the USWNT. Maybe this year, will be my big break.

Today we play against Seattle Reign. I get up and eat a healthy breakfast meal, grab my gear and head to our stadium. We are doing a light practice and a scrimmage since today is game day. Have to save our energy and juices for the game because scoring against Hope Solo is going to be tough.

Since our game is at 3:30, we have time to chill for a while. Carli invited me to a diner to eat brunch. Carli and I do this for every game we play home. Being traded to Houston Dash gave me a good benefit of playing with Carli, she's taught me a lot. We usually stay playing with another when practice is over. She knows I want to get recognized, and she helps a lot. We head to Fred's Diner down the street from the stadium. We head inside, and sit to the closest booth. The waitress comes over and takes our drink orders. Shes come back a minute a later with our waters. She places mine by me and walks away winking at me.

Carli notices and smirks at me while taking a sip from her water. "She was totally checking you out Sage" she says placing her water down. "I mean who could resist me?" I said to Carli, who chuckles and says "someone's cocky".

The waitress comes back, and takes Carli's order first before looking over at me with a smirk "What can I get for you beautiful?". Now a little bit uncomfortable, " Uh I'll just have a salad, Ceasar Salad.",  she smiles with a nod and walks away back to the kitchen. "Not into her or?" Carli says to me, "I mean she's pretty but I'm not really looking to have a relationship, soccer is all that matters to me right now" I tell her. "It's still okay to go out and live a little Sagey" Carli tells me. Carli is the only one who calls me Sagey, I also can't say she's wrong. "I just don't feel like I really have time to give myself to someone at the moment" I tell her. She nods understanding.

The waitress comes back with our salads, and smiles at me. I get the feeling she knows I'm not into her like she would have wanted me too. She gives me the space and walks away, I guess she got the hint?

Theres a comfortable silence between Carli and I as we finish our meals. We ask for the check and Carli offers to pay for it. "Carli it's my turn, you payed last time" I tell Carli. She's being stubborn and pays for the meal anyway. We still got a lot of time to spare, so we get in her car and drive back to the stadium. She takes a soccer ball out from her trunk and we head inside. We pass through our lockers and see a couple of our teammates laughing and cracking jokes. We greet them and walk past them. We head to the pitch and just kick the ball around.

One of our teammates joins us on the pitch, Morgan Brian. "Hey Sage have you heard about the rumor? They're trading you to the Thorns?" She tells me as she kicks the ball towards me. I look up at her as I stop the ball "Your joking" I tell her. She shakes her head and takes her phone out. Carli and I both look at each other, looking kinda disappointed. Hoping it's not true, considering her and I built such a good friendship here and she's been such a huge help.

Could it be true?
