"I thought you were dating Alex Morgan?" Scott comments confused, making my dad nod in aggreanse. I turn to look at Alex who was already looking at me, I turn back to the screen in front of me.

"Yeah I was, um we went through a bit of a rough patch sorta thing.. you can say. Tobin helped me, and well I.. fell for her. I fell for Tobin, she's my rock"

"Okay nevermind that, wait.. Grankids!?" My mom basically shouts questioning but happy. My dads face lights up as he totally missed what I said the first time.

"They are twins, Savannah and Connor. They are 8 years old, and right now they are in school. You'll get to meet them after school" I tell them and I see my parents get all giddy and excited. Scott looks shocked, and I chuckle at it.

"I can't wait to meet them! I get to spoil them rotten!" My mom shouts again. I knew she was going to do that to begin with, and it makes me all fluttery inside. I have a family of my own, and I know my parents will be supportive of it.

"We'll have to have a talk later Tobin" my dad tells Toby sternly. It makes me want to reach out of these screen and pull Tobin over here. She nods understandingly at my dad, and my dad nods respectfully at her. We facetime for about an hour, and into 30 mins of it. Alex grew frustrated and left the room, which made me feel more comfortable. Since my parents were asking Tobin and I questions about our relationship. I walk to Carli's room, and I knock. Mal let's me in, and I jump onto Carli's bed.

"Did your parents have a good flight to Portland?"

"Yeah they did, they're meeting Connor and Savannah later too" I tell her, and she puts her phone down and gives me her undivided attention.

"They are so lucky, they get to see my favorite neice and nephew" she says pouting.

"You know you're their favorite aunt" I tell her, and she smiles cockily.

"Yeah I figured" she says chuckling. There's a knock at the door, and Mal gets up to answer it. She opens the door to reveal my sister. She doesn't even notice I'm in the room because she's so caught up looking at Mal. After a min or two of Mal and my sister laughing, and talking. I finally clear my throat, catching my sisters attention. She blushes and moves herself a few feet away from Mal, giving me a tight lipped smile.

"Hey Sage, didn't see ya there" she tells me scratching the back of her neck awkwardly.

"Yeah I know, you were a bit distracted there huh"

Tobin's POV

"So tell me, why my daughter? What are your intentions?" Chris asks me as we sit in the backyard, while Sage's mom is making lunch in the kitchen. She really felt like home, she was already in the kitchen baking punkin chocolate chip cookies. Scott's chilling in the living room playing video games.

"The best intentions, I love Sage. She doesn't know that, but I do. Ever since I met her, she just reeled me in without her knowing she did. I love all of her, not just the parts of her that look perfect or seem perfect, like no. I also love the parts that make her imperfect. I want to be there as she builds on her dreams, I want to help her get there. I want to be the one that gets to hold her hand and cheer her up when something's wrong, I want to be the there through the good times and the bad times." I confess to Sage's dad. Its the first time I said it out loud, and it feels right to say it. I mean saying it to Chris wasn't the plan but it works. He gives me a nod, and he puts his head in his hands. He lifts his head back up smiling

"I'm happy she's got someone like you" he tells me. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. We talk for a while before we go inside, and the cookies are done. I sit down in the couch and play with Scott. We're getting a lot pretty well, I'm not big on baseball but we bond over basketball. I check the time, and I see it's time to go pick up the kids.

"I have to go pick up the kids, I'll be right back" I tell them, and I grab my keys. They get excited. I walk to the car, and head to the school. When I get there, I'm in line with the other parents. Conner and Savannah walk out with another crowd of kids. I see Connor grab Savannah's hand as they walk to the car. I unlock the door, and they open and hop in. Savannah leans over and kisses my cheek along with Connor.

"How was your day my little munchkins?" I ask them, looking at the from the review mirror as they buckle in.

"It was good, they gave us a cookie at lunch!" Savannah speaks up cheerfully. I chuckle at her childishness. I can see why Sage alway says she had 3 kids in the house, cause I just love being child like. Life's to short to be so serious. They tell me how their day goes, and I tell them I have something serious to talk to them about.

"So mommy's parents came to visit, and they didn't know about you until today. Theres a reason why your mom waited. They are very nice people, they will love you." I tell them

"Oooh grandparents!" Connor shouts happily. When we get to the house, I help them with their backpacks, I unlock the door. Cooper and Zues attack Connor and Savannah. They hug the dog, and they walk to the kitchen, I'm assuming they smell the Cookies.

"Hi! I'm Connor!"

I catch up, and I see Chris and Dianne happily shaking Savannah and Connors hand. Scott walks over, and Connor looks at him intrigued

"Hi I'm your mom's brother"

"We have to play together!" Connor grabs Scott's hand and ushers him outside. I can't help but smile at how Connor has opened up. When Sage first adopted them, they were shy and kept themselves in a shell.

"Want to see my room?" Savannah asks Dianne, and she nods smiling. Savannah grabs Diannes hand, and I can instantly see how happy Dianne got.

"Go join the boys if you like, I have to prepare some snacks for the kids. Savannah has practice today." I tell him, and he nods, he makes his way outside. I grab some fruit and wash them, getting the cutting board out. As I cut the fruit, I hear cheering outside the backyard, I smile to myself. I wish Sage was here, she would be going back and forth with the kids. Savannah and Dianne walk back out of the room after I'm done with the fruit, I also make them juice. Another reason I wish Sage was here too, she's a better cook then me.

"I showed Memaw my room, all nice and clean" Savannah says smiling as she twirls the end of her bangs. Dianne nods as she coos at the little girl before her.

"Mommy can they come to my practice?" She asks me giving me puppy eyes. I put the fruit in bags

"Of course they're coming baby" I tell her, and I put the fruit in the cooler. When the boys come back in, Connor and Scott go to the room to change. Dianne and Chris also go to their guest room. I walk with Savannah to her room, as I lay out her kit on her bed. I walk out to the living room and take the cooler to the car. I walk back in, and to Savannahs room. She's putting her cleats on. I bend down, and I tie them for her. We all get into the car, and we're off to the park.
