Chapter 39

Tobin's PoV

"I have a question" I tell Sam as we make our way inside, we sit at the kitchen table. The other girls are playing video games and goofing off.

"I know, you want to know about Vanessa" Sam says as she leans back in her chair.

"What did she do to Sage?" I ask her curiously. I mean who could ever have the intentions of hurting Sage. She's so amazing.

"She really didn't do much damage to our little Sagey, she was just the kinda girl who needed a lot of attention. Sage was very invested in soccer of course. Vanessa didn't like that, they would get into arguments. If Sage was out at lunch with a teammate, normally right after practice. Sage would tell Vanessa but when she got back home. Vanessa was usually mad, she would accuse Sage of cheating. Vanessa is actually really chill and sweet but when she's not satisfied,  it gets nasty. " She tells me. She seems to know a lot about Sage and Vanessa.

"How do you know all this?" I ask her

"I was the one teammate she'd go get lunch with. When we use to play for the Flash. She shared an apartment with Carli and I. I would always hear the arguments. About me and because she wasn't getting attention. Sage actually did give her attention, even more when Sage was an accident and she couldn't play for a few months. Just wasn't enough for Vanessa" Sam tells me as she walks to the fridge and takes out La Croix out, handing me one too. I didn't know Sage played for the Flash. So that's how Sage knows Carli and Sam.

Sage PoV

"I miss our friendship" Alex tells me looking at me in the eyes. I know she's telling the truth.

"So you're sure of.. us?" I ask her pointing towards her and I. She gives me a smile and leans in. Our lips meet and then she pulls apart.

"I am, I want this. I want us, and he's not going to get in the way of that" she tell me putting her hand on my thigh.

"Where too love?" I ask her.

"Skating Complex" she tells me excitedly. Are we ice skating? Oh gosh I've always wanted to learn. I start the drive there. I hand her the aux.

"You gonna teach me?" I ask her as I look at her for a second and back at the road.

"Yes I am, I charge 20 kisses an hour. I take make outs, pecks and midnight kisses at the beach" she tells me giving me a face eating grin.

"Looks like we'll end up at the beach" I tell her chuckling. We arrive at the complex. We walk in and she pays. We get our skates. She helps me walk to the rink. I see others skating. She wraps her arm around my waist. We enter the rink.

"Try walking, but hold on to the rail. I got you though" she tells me leading me to the side.

"I have a feeling I'm going to fall eventually" I tell her giggling, as I feel no balance. She glides to me and grabs my hand. We skate with each other, and she pulls me with her.

"Prepare for it because it'll happen... A lot" she says giggling. After 20 mins, I've managed to fall 10 times. I'm bruising but good thing we're at an ice rink.

"I'm going to let you go, okay?" She tells me as she slowly moves her hand.

"Okay... I got this " I say as I start to glide slowly on my own. I'm on my own for a while until Alex catches up to me and grabs my hand. Aiding me with her.

"I think I'm getting the hang of th-"  I fell on my ass. Alex giggles and helps me up

"Think you spoke a little too soon baby" she tells me showing her beautiful smile. I look at her smiling. I'll never get tired of hearing her call me baby.
