Chapter 54

"Tobin! Connor!" I shout in the house. We finally moved into my new house. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 living rooms and a big kitchen. I'm picking up their shoes in the living room. I told them to keep this place clean and they leave their shoes here. Why can't they be like Savannah?

"What's up?" Tobin tells me as Conner trails behind her. Conner has his cleats on and it just rained. Great now I have to mop. I take a deep breath.

"She's about to yell at us for leaving the shoes. Back away slowly" Conner tells Tobin, and they start walking back slowly, and then they run outside to the backyard

"Tobin you can not be running!" I yell through the house. I have 3 children in this house. I walk to Savannah's room, she's watching Tv. I bought her a whiteboard to draw on. She asked me to get her pictures of us from my phone. So I can put them on her wall.

"So Savvy what color do you want for your walls?" I ask her as I look around the room.

"Hmm Purple" she tells me, I nod. I walk over and sit next to her. She's coloring in her book. I sit down and color with her. After awhile I have to go back to the kitchen.

"Alright baby, dinners almost ready" I tell her and I kiss her temple. I walk out of the room. I make a note to myself that she wants purple, I know Conner wants grey. That's his favorite color. I walk to the kitchen, and started finishing up on the food. I fix the table up. They'll want something to drink, so I'll just make Lemonade. I walk to the backyard and slide the door open.

"Dinners ready!" I shout, and I walk back inside. This is crazy, I feel like a single mom. Oh wait I am. Well sorta, Tobin and I are going really steady. I walk to Savannahs room, she's just laid back watching TV with a ball in her hand.

"Hey Goldie, dinners ready" I tell her and she gets up and I walk out the room. Tobin and Conner are already in the kitchen.

"Want green beans?" Tobin asked Conner who shakes his head. They have their backs turned to us, so I'm just watching their interaction. It's cute.

"Yeah me neither but it's healthy" she tells him and serves him green beans. He makes a cringy face but takes it anyway. Savannah walks ahead of me and grabs a plate. She serves herself even though I offer, She's independent. We walk to the table, and all three of them sit down. Tobin gets up, and walks over to the kitchen where I am.

"Thanks babe" she tells me and gives me a peck on the lips. She grabs the lemonade jug and walks to the table to pour lemonade in everyone's cup. I serve myself last and walk to the table. I feel hair brush against my pants and I look down and I see Copper going under the table. For the mean time he's little but boy will he be big soon.

"Lindsey and Sonnett called, and they asked if we could make a barbecue. They said they will bring the Grill and the meat."

"Alright when?" I ask Tobin, she finishes chewing her bite of the biscuit. She holds the napkin to her mouth.

"Tomorrow" she tells me, and I nod. Tomorrow is Sunday, that'll work. Once we finish our dinner, Tobin washes the dishes. Conner and Savannah are watching cartoons in Savannahs room. I walk to my room, and just lay down. We had practice today in the morning halfway through the afternoon so I'm really tired. I hear Tobin walking in the hallway.

"Don't be up to late okay? Goodnight kiddos" I hear her tell the kids and the door closes. I get up and I move my bed sheets. I walk to my closet, I feel arms snake around my waist.

"I was going to ask you for a movie night but I know your super tired" she tells me and kisses my shoulder. I turn around in her arms. Tobin knows I still have feelings for Alex, so we're going really steady but yeah we share a bed. I mean we've had to when I moved to Portland. So it's not new for me.

"Babe put the movie on, but I can't promise you I'll be awake through most of the of the movie" I tell her, I peck her lips. She gives me her famous Tobin smile. She lets go of me and I change. She's going through the shelf of DVD'S I have, and puts in a movie. I walk to the bed and get under the covers while she jumps on the bed.

"You need to be more careful" I tell her as I move the bedsheets. I hear a playful scoff from her. I roll my eyes, sometimes she can be so careless but that's my Tobin. She moves the covers to get in. She wraps her arm around me, and I snuggle into her side. The movie is ready to be played but the controller is by the TV. I elbow Tobin's side lightly.

"Go get it" I tell her as I wait for her to get up but she doesn't.

"No you go" she tells me. I shake my head.

"Babe your closer" she tells me whining. I look at her blankly.

"We're both equally far away from the TV" I tell her. She looks at me and we make eye contact.

"Not it!" We say at the same time. Tobin playfully scoffs at me, I guess we'll just lay here. We hear a door open and in comes Conner and Savannah.

"You guys argue like your married" Savannahs tells us and grabs the control. They both walk over and climb onto the bed. She gives Tobin the control. They make themselves comfortable between our legs. Tobin brings me closer to me, and we all watch the movie together.
