"Thanks for letting us stay with you"

"It's no problem dude, Nikki will love the kids"

"This is your Auntie Sam, Sam these are my kids Connor and Savannah." They greet her with hugs, and she picks both of them up to spin them around. I know for sure their going to love Sam.

"You haven't told anyone have you?" I ask her, and she shakes her head as she puts the kids down.

"As far as I know, Nikki hasn't either. I will warn you, Kelly lives here too" she tells me, and I know that. I got a week to just avoid everyone else. If I stay longer, and tell Kelly to keep it a secret. She won't, she will tell Alex. I'm not even mad at Alex anymore, and I'm kind of.. grateful? But I feel bad that she did care for me, and lost me. The kids stay in the living room, while I follow Sam into the kitchen. She pours me a cup of water

"Thanks" I grab the cup.

"So tell me, do I have to kick Tobin's ass?"

Alex POV

"We're playing like shit" Kelly comments walking right past Allie and I, she's in a bad mood for sure. Yesterday's training was also garbage. It's clear to see, that there's something missing.. Sage. Tobin hasn't talked to anyone, because most of us are pretty upset that she led Sage on, while she was still in love with someone else. Our media crew has taken pictures and videos of us, and people started to notice.. one player was missing too. I feel a tap on my shoulder, I turn around.

"Can we talk?"

"No Tobin, the one thing I asked you to do is to not to hurt Sage but you did." I tell her, walking away from her. Allie gives Tobin a sympathetic look, then walks along with me. We walk into the locker rooms, only a couple of lockers from me, I see Carli staring at the ground in thought. I know she's had it rough too, I asked her to keep a secret from her best friend. We've tried contacting to her, but no response. We even talked to her parents, and they don't even where she is. As I take my cleats off, I hear someone rushing towards me. I turn around and I'm met with Kelly.

"I know where she is" she tells me, but the locker room was quiet, that everyone heard. Now with everyones attention, Kelly finally whispers.

"Sam Kerr" she whispers so low that I guarantee I only heard. She's staying with Sam Kerr, I should have known. Her first choice would be Carli, her second Tobin but because of the situation. Her first choice would be Sam right now. She walks back to her locker. I text Sage real quick, maybe she'll respond.

Me: I'm coming to see you after camp, we really need to talk

When we all get changed, we start heading out to the buses. Kelly sits next to me before Allie does.

"How did you find out?" I ask her curiously.

"Well I was on the phone with Sam, and I heard a giggle. You know how significant Conners giggle is. As soon as I heard it, Sam hung up"

"Gosh I miss those kids" I tell Kelly, and I think about the times Savannah would ask me to give her piggy back rides. Connor would wear my Jersey, cutest thing ever.

Sage POV

"So you're leaving Portland? Even your parents?"

"Yeah, I know it sounds drastic because of the kids in school, but I mean.. It's for all of us to start fresh." I tell Sam as we watch the kids from the kitchen, they're watching cartoons.

"Where too?"

"England"

"WSL? Not a bad idea, I mean just tell your agent. She will for sure tell the league, and you'll have teams trying to buy you"

"Yeah but I still have a contract with Portland, unless I get traded."

"Yeah Portland isn't going to want to trade you" Sam chuckles.

Alex pov

I share a room with Julie. She's currently in the room, chilling on her bed as she watches the TV. I'm just on my phone, scrolling through espn news. We get a knock on the door, and we both look at each other. I get up, and I walk over to it. Not checking who it is because the floor is only reserved for players on the National. My guess, it would be Kelly. I open the door, Tobin in front of my Hotel room.

"Tobin how many times do I have to tell you-"

"Look just listen, I know I screwed up but I want you to know that I'm not going up on Sage. I'm trying to work through my feelings but I know who I want. I just need you to back off, she's doing fine without you anyway. So just let me make her happy" She tells me seriously.

"First of all, your not even sure what you want. Secondly, I haven't been with anyone since Sage and I broke up. I actually want her, I care about her. I did everything to keep her from getting hurt or worse. So you back off" I tell her as my blood begins to boil. The door was swiftly pushed back angrily heating the wall if it had emotions.

"Okay let me make this clear to both of you!" Julie says angrily towards Tobin and I.

"You both have no right to decide who gets to be with who, Sage decides that! Right now as far as I know, she doesn't even want to talk to you both!" Julie yells at us, she lightly pushes me to the hall, and closes the door behind me. I look at Tobin and she's in disbelief too. Julie is never really mad unless it's within a game for a good reason. Seeing her mad was absolutely abnormal and scary.
