Chapter 65 Part 1

"Babe your phones ringing" Tobin let's go of me, and turns over to her side. I stretch for my phone. Who could be calling me at this hour of the night. I grab my phone, I quickly get out of bed. I walk out of the room so that Tobin can sleep. I swipe to the unknown number.

"Hello?" I hear my voice raspy.

"Sage Wilder right?" A male voice comes from the other side of the phone.

"Uh yeah, what can I do for you?"

"Finally good to talk to you, now that your engaged. I felt it was appropriate to tell you the truth" he tells me. The truth? Of what?

"I don't get it? Is this some joke?"

"Alex didn't cheat on you. It sorta disgusted me that she actually cared about you. She told me she loved you, and I mean? I couldn't have that. I was going to ruin your career, I mean I was going to hire another player to hurt you. It was either that or, you guy's breaking up. If I can't have her.. then you can't have her." The line goes dead....

Carli Pov:

"I can't believe I'm keeping this from her"

"Babe you are just protecting her" Brian tells me. Sage coming to New Jersey caught me off guard, in fact I've been avoiding her. I didn't want to keep this secret from her. It would shatter her if she found out.. and I knew all along.

"You don't get it Brian.. Sage would never talk to me again. It will break her, and our friendship." I tell him, and he rubs my back gently. My phone vibrates on the table, I reach over to grab it.

Alex: He texted me saying he was going to tell her

"Fuck"

Kelly POV

Alex: He said hes going to tell her.

"Well I guess that cats out of the bag"

"What's out of the bag?"

"Oh uh nothing" I tell Sam, and I turn my phone screen off. This isnt going to be good.

Tobin pov:

Sage left the room, I got the opportunity to read the text I got earlier. I wasn't able to read it, I reach to the stand.

Chris: You have to tell her the truth Tobin, it is not fair to her. If she finds out at the last min.. this will crush her and she won't talk to you ever again because that girl loves you.

Christens POV:

"This is going to ruin the dynamic of the team. Oh shit, what of she leaves the team? Or the league?" Julie speaks up, as we lay in our bed. Julie has a point, Sage could leave the country if she wanted too, any team would have her but country wise? Would she leave the National team?
