Chapter 40

The day after my date with Alex, Kelly came up to us and asked if we were fine. She's not worried anymore as we told her we are better then ever. I'm currently in my apartment packing everything. Literally everything. When we are back from camp, I'm officially moving out of here. Alex was cleared and she flew back to Orlando, to pack also. Once again, Christine is driving us to the airport. Time for National team Camp.

"Is everyone here?" I ask around my living room. Allie, Tobin, Sonnett, Lindsey, Mykayla and I. Since we have a lot of people going to the airport. Christine and Franch are taking us in 2 separate cars.

"Yeah and we're good to go" Tobin tells me as she grabs her luggage. I grab my keys, I hand them to Christine. I grab my suitcase and we head out. It's going to be a long night. It's sad because we'll be leaving Kling behind. She didn't make the SheBelieves roster. Allie, Sonnett, and Lindsey are going in Franchs car. Tobin, Mykayla and I are going in my truck with Christine. Mykayla sits in the passenger seat. She likes talking to Christine. I'm in the back with our luggage and Tobin.

"Do you think Jill will room you with Mykayla?" Tobin asks me as I put my head on her shoulder.

"Most likely" I tell her as I close my eyes. She moves and wraps her arm around me. She's so comfortable. I lean in a little further. I can hear her heartbeat, it's calm and steady. I feel my phone vibrate. I take it out of my pocket.

Vanessa: I'll be in for a week at Santa Monica, I know that's where your camp is. Can we hang out?

I was about to type until Tobin spoke up.

"Are you sure about that?" She asks me whispering. I can feel her jaw by my temple. I start typing anyway.

  -Me: Why?
Vanessa: To catch up, and don't worry I'm not going to try anything. I've already seen the pictures of you and her.
  -Me: Fine
Vanessa: And so it's not uncomfortable for you, you can bring a friend or two. Up to you. I'll let you know when I'm free.

I leave her on read. I fall asleep.

"Hey" I hear someone as they shake me lightly. I open my eyes and notice we're parked and Mykayla is getting the luggage out. I look up and Tobin's smiling at me

"Come on sleepyhead" she tells me as she unwraps her hand from my shoulder and gets off the truck. I get off after her. I grab my luggage. I give Sin 20 dollars for gas, she declines it but I shove it in her pocket and quickly jog away with my my luggage before she could shove the money back in my hand. We check in and go through TSA. When our planes called, I'm sitting with Allie and a man.

"You mind if I use your shoulder as a pillow?" Allie asks me with her eyes showing tiredness. I shake my head. She lays her head on my shoulder. While I lay my head back, and looking at the ceiling of the plane.

"You look familiar" I hear coming from my left side. I look at the man.

"If you watch womens soccer" I tell him quietly.

"Right! You're the new player" he tells me. I nod. He smiles and looks out the window. I quickly end up falling asleep. I'm shaken awake by Allie. She gets up and grabs her extra luggage. I only brought my phone with me. I walk out the plane before it became a 15 min wait to get off. I wait for the girls. Once they're out we call a cabs.

"So ready to get to the hotel and sleep. What time is it?" Sonnett comments, as we claim our luggage. I look at my watch.

"It's 11:45" I tell her. She groans and we walk outside for the cabs. Mykayla goes in one cab with Sonnett and Lindsey. I'm glad cause they'll most likely be the group of friends she'll hang out with the most. Since they are closer in age, along with Mal.
