Dahlia's POV
************

"What the fuck was that?!" I questioned quickly as I sat up. I'd been fast asleep just a few seconds ago, but I heard something outside of our tent and it woke me right the fuck up.

Billie groaned and buried her face deeper into her pillow. "Go back to sleep, baby, I probably just farted. All those fucking baked beans got my stomach fucked up—"

So, we had about twenty cans of baked beans which Jessica had apparently packed in case of an emergency.

"No, it was something outside the tent!" I rolled my eyes. "What if it's a murderer or a bear or something?"

"Go back to sleep quickly so you won't feel any pain when they kill you." She muttered.

"I'm serious, Billie!" I whisper yelled. She was snoring before I could even finish my sentence. I sighed as I grabbed my flashlight and crawled out of my sleeping bag.

I crawled out of our tent slowly and looked around for a few moments before stepping further and further away from it.

I jumped with every step I took, scared by the sound of my own footsteps, but I continued to walk away from the tent as I tried to figure out what the noise I was hearing was.

The wind was whirring in my ear and it sounded like whispering, and the harder I listened, the more it sounded like actual words were being said. It was starting to sound like the wind was whispering my name to me, but I'm guessing—hoping—that's just my subconscious.

I gasped and turned around quickly after hearing what sounded like footsteps behind me, but nothing was there. I waved the flashlight around, trying to see something, but there was really nothing there.

Then I heard knocking on the tree behind me, quickly turned to see if someone was there, and again there was nothing.

After a few moments of staring at the tree, I turned around again and began walking toward the trail we'd gone down earlier. I'm not sure why I did, but I did, and I really wish I hadn't.

The moment I pointed the flashlight at the trail, I saw what looked like a long trail of goo or...Jelly or something? I don't know, it was a deep red color and very thick looking.

I tried to examine it a little more, but I didn't get the chance to get a good look at it. It was when I heard a faint yet loud, deep scream from what seemed to be a good distance away that I took off running back to my tent. I dived in as quickly as I could, scraping the shit out of my knee as I did, but I'll just have to worry about that later.

"Wake the fuck up!" I screamed as I flipped Billie over onto her back and then slapped her stomach. She jumped awake and stared at me with wide eyes and a confused facial expression.

"Bitch, god damn!" She cursed as she sat up. "I know I told you a long time ago that you could wake me up whenever you wanted to fuck, but this shit is ridiculous—"

"Somebody's fucking dead, Billie! There's been a murder!" I whisper yelled.

She blinked at me a few times before letting out a small sigh. "Okay, that's really bad, but I'm trying to be more optimistic these days so let's look at the bright side...At least it wasn't you or me, right? And it probably wasn't Kit...Oh my god, what if it was Kit?! Why couldn't whoever did it take you instead?!" She screeched.
