"Ae..."

Kinalabit ako ni Ate sa gilid. Kanina pa siya. Sa plaza, sa restaurant at pati ngayon.

"Ano?" I kept on scrolling on my phone, one of my lazy nights.

"Crush mo ba 'yong supervisor ko?"she curiously asked.

"Hindi..."

"Asuss. Deny kapa, Aela Zalea. Alam ko na yan."

What a conclusion!

Hinarap ko siya. Nanlaban naman siya ng tingin at prenting umupo sa ibaba ng kama ko.

"Baka siya ang may gusto sayo kasi kung nasaan ka, nandon siya!"kainis.

Umiling iling siya at ngumiti. Binalik ko ang atensyon sa cellphone at nag scroll down ulit.

"He's a nice guy,Ae. No wonder why girls...like you flock him. Two months palang kaming magkakilala pero ang dami ko ng nalaman tungkol sa kanya..."

Curiosity strikes me. Nilingon ko ulit ang kapatid at nakinig.

"...he's a son of every mother could wish for. An overprotective brother to his siblings and an honorable man. And in your case, you, little bratty sister of mine fits for him."

Ngumiwi ako. Grabe imaginations nitong kapatid ko.

"I'm not like those girls who flocks him.Nag research kaba? Conclusion naba yan, Ate kasi feeling ko parang hindi pa. And what the hell are saying?"madrama kong tanong.

"Because I can see that he can tame you. He can handle you with your shitty attitudes..."she said as a matter of fact.

Minsan talaga lumalabas ang pagkabrat ko at pati narin ang attitude ko na hinding hindi maintindihan ng lahat. Only her, my parents and cousins can understand me.

"You have a nice imaginations, my-feeling-artist sister."

Tatalikuran ko na sana siya pero hinila niya ulit ako para makaharap siya.

"Swear...just give it a try! He's a nice man. You'll learn a lot from him. Please, Ae..."niyugyug niya ang balikat ko sa pamimilit."...talk to him and try. Please."

Umiling ako. "Ate, NO. You're crazy! Isang araw pa nga you told me that I'm still young and now you're...my god."nasapo ko ang noo.

"Let's change it! Magkakasundo kayo,Ae. Promise--"

"Ate..." I cut her. "... please kung gusto mo siya ikaw nalang. I'm not interested."

She slouches and gave me a disappointed look. "I know I wasn't that vocal of supporting you in everything that you do, Ae. But starting tonight you will hear every cheer ups and motivations from me if...if you atleast hang out and be friends with Ryan. Please?"she shows this puppy eyes and pleaded.

"Ate ano bang germs ang pumasok sa utak mo at bigla bigla mo nalang akong nirereto kay Ryan?"naiinis kong tanong.

"Because I can foresee your future in him. I can foresee how happy and contented you are if you're with him, sister."makahulugang tingin sa akin. "Alam mo... back when we we're still young I promise that I'll be a good sister to you. That I'll be your crying shoulder, your companion and your lawyer. I'll give you your happiness cuz that's what a sister should do to her sibling. I love you,Ae. I am not doing this on purpose but I just want you to be happy..."

We both shed tears. We barely talk like this. Lagi kaming sa nonsense nagkakasundo pero kapag nagsalita siya na mula sa puso niya...totoo.

"Why do you have to act like that? You're so awful."sabi ko habang nag pupunas ng luha.

She laughed awkwardly.

"Sige. I'll try..."pumalakpak siya at tumawa."...but don't do anything. Let me do it my way."

"Sure,sure. Thank you so much, bratty!"yinakap niya ako tapos umalis sa kwarto ko.

Napailing nalang ako.

Ginamit niya pa talaga ang kaartehan niya sakin. Well, my Ate is my Ate. Maybe I can ask favors next time,huh.

"Good morning!"

I greeted everyone.

"Good morning, Aela." Ate Viva greeted me back.

"You seems extra hyper today, young lady..."dad said then sipped on his coffee.

"Wala lang. It's so nice starting your day with a smile." I showed him my widest smile and heard him laughed.

"That's good. I wonder when would my Feytty do the same thing every morning too?"si Tita Mariel sabay kalabit kay Feyt na tahimik lang sa gilid.

Ngumiwi siya at umiwas kay Tita na busangot ang mukha. The moodiest.

"I bit she wouldn't change that attitude every day."sabat naman ni Kuya Sid. "She always looks like a kitten beaten up for foods..."

Feyt rolled her eyes to her brother. The whole dinning was filled with laughter. Pati si mommy na nagluluto ay humagikhik ng marinig niya 'yon kay Sid.

"Why would I smile if I always see your monkey faces ha!" Feyt fired back.

Tumawa sina Paul at Sid.

"I am offended, Feytty. We're siblings so you have a monkey face too!" Paul is clutching his stomach trying not to laugh loudly.

Seryuso? Ang babaw ng kaligayahan ng mga tao ngayong umaga.

"Mmy, nakakainis na talaga 'to!" Feyt showed a dramatic expression.

"Chill..."awat ni Ate Viva.

Tito John is just laughing because of his children.

"Okay everyone, let's eat."anunsyo ni Mommy nang matapos siya sa paghahanda ng pagkain na saktung pagbaba naman ni Ate na nakabihis na.

"Aela, please lead the prayer..."si mommy.

I nodded. We both held hands then I stared praying.

"Ate Cath is unbelievable..."komento ni Julia nang sabihin ko sa kanya ang plano ni Ate. Vacant time namin ngayon at nasa cafe kami ng university para magpalipas ng oras.

I sipped on my shake silently.

Tumunog ang cellphone ko sa text na nanggaling sa magaling kong kapatid.

Ate: (Ate lang talaga ang nakasave sa phone ko)

Ryan will fetch you, my dear bratty sister!

Muntik na akong mahulog sa kinauupuan ng mabasa ko ang text niya. At talaga naman!

"Okay kalang?"pag aalalang tanong ng kaibigan ko.

"Yep. Reply ko lang si Ate..."

Halos bumaon ang cellphone ko sa palad habang nagtitipa ng reply sa kanya. Kainis.

Ako:

You're crazy, Ate Cathy! Hindi na niya dapat akong sundui--"

Bigla siyang tumawag kaya natigil ako sa ginagawa.

"What?"pagalit kong sagot.

"Aela, Ryan will fetch you,ha? Alam na niya kung anong oras ka susunduin mamaya. Hehe. Enjoy young sister!"sabay tili.

"Ate..."natigil siya bahagya at nakinig. "...ang usapan natin makikipag usap ako sa paraan na gusto ko. Why are so hard headed?"sinipat ko si Julia na kunot noo.

"Sus! That's where you were heading,Ae. Oh, basta ha. Hintayan mo jan. Bye na! Loveyou!"

Then the line went dead.

I let out a long deep sighed and put down the phone.

"Stress? Alam mo pasalamat talaga ako na ako 'yong naging ate. Dahil kung hindi baka na depress na ako."matabang niyang sabi.

Umiling iling nalang ako.

Ako? Mamaya? Susunduin, sinong niloloko niya? Kainis.
