Lennox and I waited out back by the pool for Trevor to come over. We were sitting with our feet in the water when someone finally sent her the video of the fight. I refused to watch it but judging by her reaction, she was pleased with the outcome.

"What's taking him so long? Did it look like he got injured? Do you think he's in the ER? Should I call his mom?"

"River, He's fine. Probably a little bruised but nothing serious. He beat the brakes off Elijah's ass though, HE might be in the ER." She laughed.

"It's not funny! This is a mess, he should have just left with us. What did he accomplish tonight by fighting Elijah?"

"River he did that for you. Elijah is a dick, he deserved everything he got tonight for setting you up like that. You do realize that if he hadn't shown up tonight it would have been you on that video fighting right?"

The sliding glass door opened and we both turned to see Trevor and my dad walking out. I jumped up and ran to Trevor.

"Are you alright?" I looked him over trying to access the damage. But there wasn't a scratch on him.

"Yeah, I'm good." He smiled.

"Dude. I have to tell you, I'm thoroughly impressed. I have a new level of respect for you after tonight." Lennox said high-fiving Trevor.

"Thanks."

"Well, I'm going to bed. In case the rest of you forgot, we have a music festival to go to in the morning." Lennox said heading inside.

"She's right. I'll let you two talk but don't stay out here all night."

"Okay Dad."

"Thank you for protecting her tonight." Dad said patting Trevor on the back.

"I'd do anything for her."

"I know you would." Dad smiled and headed into the house.

"You would, wouldn't you?" I asked.

"Would what?"

"Do anything for me."

"Of course."

"What if I asked you to stay away? To let me and Blaise be happy together."

"Is that what you want?"

I studied him. The clenched jaw, the doleful look in his eyes, the grave expression on his face. He would do it if I asked him to, but it was obvious that it would cause him pain. I know it would kill me too.

"No" I shook my head. " It's what I should want though."

"You'd be miserable." He grinned.

"I'll be miserable either way and maybe I deserve it."

Trevor took a step closer, invading my personal space.

"What ever you are thinking about doing... don't." I said refusing to make eye contact with him.

"Why won't you look at me?"

I gave him a quick glance and then took him by the hand. "Come on." I said, heading for the Studio.

"Are we going to make out?" He asked with a mischievous smile.

"No ass."

"You want to though, I can tell." He winked.

I turned on the lights and closed the door behind us.

" I changed my mind about singing with you, we should do it."
