We spent the next two weeks planning River's party and trying to roll out her assistance program, which we were still trying to come up with a name for.
Trevor and River had posted multiple video's of song covers and at the end of each video they would talk about the program, ask for donations and ask for suggestions. The donations were pouring in, both locally and from multiple states. They even had some bands sending in gift cards and items.
Amberlee's closet was now fully stocked with clothes and shoes and she was ready to go. She did change the name to Visco Redemption and we get scolded if we refer to it by any other name. It is now housed in Savannah's shed which my dad cleaned up and extended out a bit to make it a little bigger and moisture proof. River and Amberlee decorated it to look more like a boutique and less like a shed.
Trevor's parents were throwing River's party at their house since they had plenty of room for the amount of people we were expecting. Out of the 700 kids who attend our school, 435 of them responded that they were planning to attend.
Bianca was ecstatic about finally getting to plan a party of this caliber. It didn't hurt that she is also very fond of River. The Bishops themselves donated quite a bit of stuff to get the program started as well. Bianca even contacted the local community college and asked them to create a mobile app for us. That is supposed to go live in a week.
I Was incredibly proud of River and everything she has managed to throw together in two weeks. We still had a month until school starts and I can only imagine how much she will have accomplished by then. She had been up early every morning taking calls and checking messages and she was staying up late every night sorting through donations and making sure everything stayed organized.
She wouldn't admit it, but I could tell she was burning out. I finally convinced her to let Bianca take her and all the girls for a much needed spa day. The party is tomorrow and I didn't want my girl to be too tired to enjoy herself.
Trevor and I promised to finish sorting the donations that came in this morning. We have been getting along really well the past few weeks. I think he has finally accepted the fact that River and I are together. Every time they sing together you can still see the connection, but I'm learning to live with it.
"So what did you get her for her birthday?" Trevor asked sifting through a stack of gift cards.
"It's a surprise."
"Dude, I'm not going to tell her."
"I'm still not saying. What did you get her?"
"It's a surprise." He smirked.I can only imagine the over the top gift he's picked out for her, it's probably going to put mine to shame. She forbade us both from buying her anything but of course neither of us listened.
"Shouldn't they be back by now? How long does it take to get massages and facials?" I asked.
"Who knows, there's five of them though, so probably forever."We finished sorting all of the gift cards and took the clothes out to the shed. We didn't even bother trying to sort those because no matter what we did Amberlee was going to say we did it wrong.
We got back inside just in time to see Trevor's SUV pull up."Oh fuck." Trevor said looking out the window.
The front door opened and there stood my girl. Her waist length brown hair now layered and cut several inches shorter to the middle of her back. Her dark brown color fading into a caramel blonde making her ice blue eyes stand out. She was hot before but this was next level.
