Chapter 14-Blaise

    The next morning Savannah dropped us off at River's grandmothers  house. And in typical grandma fashion, she had pancakes and bacon waiting for us.

After we ate we watched some TV to let our food settle. Then we did some stretches and went for a jog. River complained the entire time. Trevor and I have our work cut out for us if we are going to get this girl into fighting shape.

I let her rest for about 20 minutes after the jog and then we went right into it.

I showed her basic moves to block punches and kicks and then some basic moves to temporarily take someone down. She caught on pretty quick, but I did take my time with showing her how to position herself , only because  I wanted to be close to her. It was a good call on her part not to have Trevor here, he would have kicked my ass for sure.

Speaking of Trevor, we had not heard a word from him all morning, It was odd. I thought for sure he would have been blowing our phones up. But other than a Good morning text to River he hadn't sent anything.

After we were done with Karate and had lunch, her grandmother kept trying get me to eat more. Now I see where Savannah gets it from, she's always trying to feed me too.

"Want to go swimming now?" River asked yawning.

"Are you going to be able to stay awake long enough?"

"That's what I have you for, to make sure I don't drown."

"So What your saying is, there's a chance that I'll get to use CPR on you." I smiled.

"Maybe." She winked. " I'm gonna go get changed in the bathroom and you can go get changed in my room."

" Your room?"

" Yeah, I have my own room here."

"Oh. Do you spend a lot of time here?"

" Yeah mostly during the summer and school breaks. That way I don't have to sit at home alone."

"I think it's pretty cool that you have a place to hide out at. But you can always text me if you don't want to be alone, I'll hang out with you."

" K. But you can't tell anyone about my secret hide away. Its G14 classified information, leaking such information is punishable by death."

" Ooo that sounds serious." I laughed.

" Go get dressed dork, I'll meet you by the pool."

I dove into the deep end and and then swam over to the stairs to wait for River. 

You know that scene in movies where the hot girl walks out in slow motion with her hair blowing in the wind,to a song that seems to fit the exact moment? It totally happened. River in a bikini was probably the best part of the afternoon, Especially that strapless bikini.

"What?" She said eyeing me.

" I'm sorry, but you are stupid hot."

"Stupid hot?" She laughed.

"Yeah like it's stupid how hot you are."

" Oookkkaayy."  She said laughing. "Thanks? I guess. I'm gonna go grab my float."

This girl came out carrying the biggest swan raft that I have ever seen.

" What the hell is that?"

" It's my float!"

"It's the same size as the damn pool Riv."

" I know." She beamed .

"How are we supposed to swim if that thing is in here?"

"Oh, I don't swim, I float. Now come hold it steady so I can hop on it please."

I shook my head and do as I'm told.

"Scoot over, I'm coming on too."

"Blaise Chapman you better not knock me off of this float!"

" I would never!" I said in mock surprise.

"Mmmmhhmmm." She said scooting over.

I climbed on and pushed us away from the steps.
We laid there floating for a few minutes in silence.

"Is it me or is this really awkward?" She said.

"Explain."

" I don't know, I have no idea what to say to you or how to act."

"Do you ever feel awkward when you're with Trevor?"

"No."

"Oh."

"But I think that's just because we kissed right out of the gate so we got our most awkward moment out of the way."

"I mean, we could kiss. See if it helps." I said half joking.

She looked at me and smiled.

"No. I don't want it to happen that way."

"What do you mean?"

"I want it to be special, not a dare and not a way to kill an awkward silence."

"So, you want me to like bring you flowers and court you and stuff?"

She laughed. "No you dork, although for the record I do love Sunflowers and daisy's. But what I mean is, I don't want it to be planned, I want it to just happen at the perfect moment."

" And how is one supposed to know when that is?"

She shrugged . " I think you just know."

Great. So Trevor gets to kiss her whenever he wants and I have to wait for some special magical moment.

"Blaise." She says tearing me from my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry."

"For What?" I asked confused.

"For this." She said rolling off the float and tipping me into the water.

"I can not believe you just did that!" I said, splashing water at her.

"Oh, so you want a splash war?" She said, splashing me back.

After a few minutes of that she surrendered by getting out of the pool. She wanted to lay out for a little while in a lounge chair.

I climbed back onto her massive swan raft and laid down. After about 10 minutes I heard her getting up from her chair. I opened my eyes to see her running toward the pool yelling Cannonball.

Honestly, i think i fell a little harder for her at that moment.

We had a cannon ball competition, a diving competition and then raced a few times. She was super competitive, so I had to let her win a few times.

We floated on rafts talking for a while and then decided to make a " wave pool". We were just two carefree teenagers acting like little kids and honestly it was the best time ever.

We got out just in time to dry off before Savannah came to pick us up.

On the way home She got a text from Trevor. He wanted to see her tonight he said they needed to talk. It was pissing me off that he couldn't just let me have one day with her all to myself. But overall we had an amazing day, we finally got to talk and get to know each other better like I wanted, So I'll take this one day as a win for me.
