I was going crazy sitting in the house, So when Abby messaged me and asked if I wanted to go get ice cream and go swimming, I jumped at the chance.
She offered to swing by and pick me up but I told her that I needed some air so I would just meet her there. I snuck out of the back door to avoid my mother and Lennox. There was no way they were going to let me go out alone and I was tired of them smothering me.
It was about a ten minute walk to Blondie's Ice cream parlor. I used the time to think. I tried not to think about Trevor but it wasn't working. I just wanted to know that he was ok. I wanted to apologize for the message I left and for being a coward. I never should have turned my phone off.
If he never wanted to speak to me again after that, then fine. I lived without him before, I could do it again. I didn't want to, it would hurt like hell for a while but I'm sure I would get over it ... eventually.
Once I got to Blondies, Abby was sitting at one of the tables reading a book. We went up to order our ice cream and sat down.
"Abby as your new friend, I have to tell you that your Sundae offends me in SO many ways."
"What!? Why? This sundae is a thing a beauty!"
"It's literally just ice cream and nuts. Do you have something against sprinkles or hot fudge or gummies?" I asked laughing.
"I like to keep things simple." She laughed. "So how are things with Karma's Army?"
"Really good actually. I Just can't wait until they get the app up and running because I am drowning in emails and phone calls."
"I'd like to help. I have excellent organizational skills thanks to my OCD." She laughed.
"I'd love that." I smiled. "After we finish here we can go back to my house if you want and I can show you everything we have going on. But I must warn you, it's a lot and it's time consuming."
"I don't exactly have much else going on" She shrugged.
I wondered to myself if Abby had any friends. She was a little older than me, A junior I think. I'll have to ask Blaise and James.
Suddenly Abby's eyes went wide.
"Hey. Abby, are you ok?"
"Don't turn around."
"Um ok, why?"
"Because Sasha and Sarah are in line buying ice cream."
"Shit. Think we could make it to your car?"
"No, if we get up we will just draw attention to ourselves."
I picked up my phone to call Blaise.... No answer. Shit.
"Maybe they won't notice us." She tried to reassure me.
"Lets hope."
She frowned. "They're coming."
" Damn it."
Abby look terrified.
"It's ok, I'll be fine. I knew this would happen eventually, I'm trained for it."
She gave me a confused look.
"Well well well, if it isn't River and her adopted nerd." Sarah said sitting down next Abby.
I knew Sasha was standing behind me but I tried to act oblivious.
"So where is Blaise? He finally grow tired of you? It's only a matter of time before he comes running back to me." She smiled.
