While River was inside taking a shower and getting ready for dinner, Savannah invited me to go with them. She said Grayson went on Vacation with his father for the rest of the week so they had room in the car and River's grandparents really wanted to meet me.
I Went home to take a shower and get dressed. When I came back down my dad was sitting in the living room watching TV, Which he never does.
"Where are you off to?" He asked.
"To dinner with River and her grandparents, if that's okay."
"Yeah, Of course it is."
"Dad, what are you doing?"
" Watching TV."
"You never watch TV, you're either out in the garage working on something, drinking with Cole or out back talking to Savannah."
"I'm taking a break."He said shrugging his shoulders.
"From which one?"
"All of them. Your going to be late son."
"Yeah. Hey, do you want to light a fire later? I kind of need some advice about something."
I didn't really need advice but I just wanted him to feel needed. I'll make something up before I get home.
" Yeah, Sure." He smiled. "Have a good time."
When I walked out front Savannah was trying to take Grayson's car seat out of her car. She was wearing a dress so she was trying to be ladylike about it but the cuss words flying out of her mouth were anything but.
"Need some help?" I said laughing.
"Ugh! Yes, please. I hate these stupid things!"
She climbed out of the car and I jumped in. She looked flustered and nervous.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah." She smiled.
I shook my head. " You and my dad are terrible liars."
"He really is." She laughed. "I'm just nervous. The last time Nathan and I went out we were just kids. I don't know how to act anymore, and not to mention his parents will be there and our own child. It's just a lot."
"Understandable." I said pulling the car seat out.
" How did you do that so fast? I've been out here for 15 minutes fighting with this thing, putting it back in is going to be even worse."
I laughed. "I'll help you."
"Thank you. And thanks for being there for River this week." She smiled.
"I'd do anything for her."
"I know you would."
"Hey, Umm... don't tell him I told you this, but I think my dad may be feeling a little left out lately. He's in there watching TV."
"Hunter doesn't watch TV." She said wrinkling her forehead.
"I know. I think he just got so used to you being around to talk every night that now he doesn't know what to do with himself. And Nathan is here to help you with everything so I think he just feels like you don't need him anymore."
She sighed.
"That's my fault. I just got a little caught up with the whole Nathan and River thing. Of course I need him, he's my best friend. I'll talk to him." She smiled.
" You're a good son."
"I Try. "
"Hey Boyfriend." River said coming out of the house with Lennox.
