After Blaise left, Elijah had me do a three minute warm up before beginning the lesson.
He then showed me some basic techniques like jabbing, cross jabbing, the round kick and the foot jab. He seemed very knowledgeable about everything and his instructions were very clear. He's obviously been in kickboxing for a long time, his body was proof of that.He was definitely easy on the eyes. He was taller than me but not too much taller. His dark brown hair was pulled up into a man bun and his blue eyes looks amazing with his tan skin. I normally detest man buns but he was really pulling it off. I couldn't help but wonder what his hair looked like down though.
While he had me do practice kicks and jabs to the pads on his arms he struck up a conversation.
" So, which one is your boyfriend?"
" Huh?" I asked wiping the sweat soaked hair from my forehead.
"The guy that paid for your lessons or the guy who brought you here?"
"Oh. Neither."
"Interesting." He said raising an eyebrow.
" It's complicated." I said punching the pad on his arm.
"So it seems. The guy who paid for your lessons referred to you as his girl."
" He does that. But like I said, It's complicated."
" So uncomplicate it."
" If only it were that easy."
" It is easier than you think it is. Two guys, one girl.. Just pick one."
" One is my neighbor and the other is his best friend, so it's not easy." I said punching the pad on his arm a little harder.
"You are overthinking it. If they were really best friends one of them would have stepped aside by now in order to preserve the friendship. So pick one, or drop them both and save everyone from having to hurt someone."
What he said made sense. I should just walk away, that really would be the best thing to do so that I don't come between them. Would they go right back to being close again back to ignoring me? Do I really want that?
"You are overthinking it again aren't you?" He said pulling me out of my thoughts.
" Guess so." I said throwing another punch.
" How long has your little love triangle been going on?"
" It's only been a week." The minute I said the words I realize how ridiculous it sounded.Has it really only been a week? It feels like so much longer.
" Hold up. A week?" He said taking a step back.
"That's it? So no one has any real feelings invested here. If you put an end to it right now then no one would get hurt ,you do realize that right?"
I do realize that. And it sucks. Am I really selfish enough to keep this going? And if I am, how long am I willing to drag these two along while a figure my feelings out? "Shit." I meant to say that in my head but judging by the smirk on his face I know it was out loud.
"Glad I could help." He smiled.
"You know, you should probably show me as much as possible in the next twenty minutes since it will likely be my last lesson." I said dropping my hands from the defensive pose I was holding.
" Why's that? Your lessons are paid for, and we have a strict no refund policy."
" Because that wouldn't be right."
"I think he would be more upset if you didn't finish. He said he would be calling in today to see how your first lesson went. Do you really want me to tell him that you quit?"
