A few days after the whole meltdown about Libya people started getting over themselves and I was finally able to move on without it being a main topic of conversation.
But there were a few things we needed to accomplish before we left.
"Ezra you can just show me on YouTube or something. I really don't want to go to a gun range." I practically whined.
We had just parked and he was getting out of the truck.
"No Alara. You need to know how to fire and handle a weapon safely. You promised me you would learn. Now come on." He said before he shut the door.
I narrowed my eyes, "You're so bossy."
Reluctantly I got out of the truck and watched as he grabbed two black cases from the back. Of course his muscles flexed and I got distracted. "Hey how about we do something else?" I said trying desperately to get out of this.
He shook his head clearly amused. "Nice try. But let's go."
So here I was standing beside him trying so hard not to make any sudden moves. There were like... enough guns in here to start a small army.
And it's not like I was anti gun... they were just so loud and surprisingly heavier than they look.
"Its her first time shooting a gun?" The owner asked with a small chuckle.
"Is it that obvious?" I swear I was beet red. Why am I always blushing like this? Jeez Lari get it together.
"You'll do fine. You've got a damn good teacher right here." He said nodding to Ezra.
I smiled nervously and followed Ezra to wherever we were going. We went down into what looked like a lounge. It had glass paneling so you could see into the gun range.
"Things do seem so loud I guess.." I said to myself.
"Guns are loud baby, especially in tight spaces." He said as he set the cases down.
I relaxed as he turned to face me. "You look like you're going to shit yourself Lara." He laughed.
"Because I really don't like stuff that goes fast and can kill people." I said as I sat down. Okay I was pulling out my pout real hard now.
He leaned forward, resting his hands against the arms of the chair. "Today you're going to shoot a gun. And you're not going to be afraid."
I groaned and turned my head to look at the range. All types of people were here today. Even a girl who looked like she was twelve. She didn't look too phased as she shot the gun.
I guess I could do it.
"Okay. I will try. But we have to get ice cream after this." I said.
He cracked a smile and leaned forward. "I'll get you any kind you want."
.
"The only time you should ever point a gun at someone is if you intend to use it." Ezra said in a serious tone.
He had the smaller case out on the table. There were two hand guns inside and he was holding one in the palm of his hand.
"Never point it at yourself or any other body part if it is not in use. You always point it down range or at the ground. Understand?"
I nodded silently.
"Good. Now take it."
I immediately shook my head but he insisted. "Take it Lar. It's not going to bite."
