I immediately stand up and walk back and forth in front of my parents. I have both hands on top of my head trying to comprehend the information that was just given to me.

"How could you be involved in that?" I eventually stop walking and turn to them.

"Elle, I know it seems bad but I know the business well-"

"Mum how did you let him accept the offer?"

"Sweetie, I had too. They are good people, you don't have to worry," my mother tries to assure me that everything will be okay but I know this is bad news.

"Guys, does no one realize how bad it is to be connected to this? All of us are in danger n-"

"You didn't think about that when you started dating Damian?" My father stands up abruptly looking directly at me.

"Well, I didn't find out... until-"

"Until when Elle?" He asks seriously.

"Until the night of the dinner we had with Damian. He told me when I was outside talking to him before he left," I admit.

"What about before that? You didn't know anything about the mafia?" My father asks.

"No, I umm... he said it was a small gang," I say nervously.

               "And you still dated him-"

"Okay, that's enough you two!" My mother interrupts us.

"We are all wrong here and now we need to accept it because we are deep in this now. Elle," my mother explains before turning to me. "Your father is now co-leader alongside Giovanni and he can't leave now."

"And Liam," my mother pauses turning to face my father." Your daughter dated your best friend's son and you knew about what he's involved in the entire time. If it was a big deal, you would have stopped it but you didn't. Now if she gets back together with him, you can't say nothing but accept it because now you are in the same situation as him," my mother explains before siting back on the couch and closing her eyes.

My father and I look at each other and back at her.
I never expected her to say any of that. She's not wrong. I have to accept my father's decisions and he has to accept mine. We can't do anything but support each other at this point.

Now I feel like I'm more connected to Damian than before.

Damian. He knew about my father being his new boss and he didn't say a word to me.

"How long have you been a co-leader?" I ask my father. My mother opens her eye and looks at us.

"Right after Christmas I accepted the position," he answers.

I keep saying this but I think I mean it this time. I will kill this boy.

"So when we moved here, did you know about this proposition he had for you?" I'm just trying to get as much answers as I can since they're being truthful now.

"No I did not. But I think Gio had this in his thoughts for a long time. He helped me get the promotion to move here, close to them-"

"But if you knew what he wanted you to be apart of before we moved, would we have moved?" I ask looking at both of them. They look at each other before my father turns back to me, "Yes, I would've still accepted his offer and moved down here." My father admits and takes a seat beside my mother.
