ERICA WALKED INTO a convent store after she got called in to sort out some kids that had been trying to steal, she almost laughed at the irony of it all, sometimes to survive after they had been kicked out of another Foster home
Erica and Emma would have to get creative and steal some items in order to live -- Ericbg a usually just stole what she needed and never got caught whereas Emma would sometimes get a little bit too greedy and steal more than necessary and Erica would usually have to smooth things over -- the bell above the door rang and Erica walked in, confused when she saw not only the mayor but also her nephew "Henry" She asked, raising an eyebrow "What happened?"
"May I remind you Ms Swan that genetics mean nothing just because your sister gave birth to him, it doesn't give either one of you the right to be in his life and besides it's all taken care of" Regina smiles as she tries to move past Erica
"Actually" Erica smiles right back, not trying to start a fight "I'm here because I'm the Sheriff"
"Oh thats right" Regina rolled her eyes "Go on do your job"
Erica rolled her own eyes as she walked over to the children in question and ignored the remark that Regina called out before she left with her son and she turned to the store clerk who seemed pissed off that he was almost robbed "I did, but the number the gave me was disconnected" He informs the blonde before moving away in order to let her deal with the situation
"Did you guys give Mr Clark a fake number?" She asked the brother and sister softly who both shook their heads quite forcibly like they thought that Erica was going to do something but they could make a break for it before that happened and before Erica raised an eyebrow and asked them the question that they knew was coming "Then why was it disconnected?"
"Our parents couldn't pay the bill," The young girl told Erica and Erica nodded as she looked at the items they had tried to steal
"You guys were just trying to help, right?" Erica asked to which they nodded sheepishly
"Please" The young girl begged "Please. Don't arrest us, it'll just make things worse for our parents" Both children looked frightened out of their minds and Erica knew how they must be feeling, she knew what it was like to be small and feel useless and they must be frightened because they thought they were going to be taken away from their parents
"I'm not going to arrest you kid" Erica assures them and they both sigh, relief washing through their faces "C'mon, let's get you guys home,"
Leading them to the squad car that she got from work and opened the back car and the brother and sister scrambled into it before Erica closed the door over and settled herself into the driving seat and began to drive to where the kids said that they lived
"You know if our parents see you they'll be so embarrassed?" The girl says to Erica when they had stopped and Erica twisted her body to face them, the boy was quiet but seemed to be aware of his surroundings and let his sister do most of the talking
