XiV. The Mysterious Case of Mrs Nolan

Storybrooke. Present day.

"WHAT THE HELL is Miners Day and why are you beating yourself up over it?" Erica asked Mary Margret as they walked down the road, after Erica saw the unwelcome reception her mother received after asking for volunteers to help out with this years Miner Day celebration "Do they really not like the day or something?"

"It's an annual holiday celebrating an old tradition. The nuns used to make candles and trade them with the Miners for coal. They now use it as a fundraiser and everyone loved it because of the party -- loved being the keyword because ever since I was as announced as a home wrecker to the town, I've had ten people drop out just this week. I've never been a home wrecker before"

"You made a mistake with David" Erica told her softly "It happens but don't beat yourself up over it and you certainly don't have to do charity just to please others especially if you don't want to"

"I have to do something" Mary Margret cried "This is the best I could do"

With that said Mary Margret walked away leaving Erica alone for a moment before she spotted the blonde beauty that she went on a date with a few nights ago bounding up to her, looking just about ready to explode from excitement "I have a vey serious question to ask you" Rachel stated swaying on her heels

"Ask away babe" Erica whispered in the blondes' ear which sent both of their hearts soaring from happiness and bringing Rachel to blush all kids of red at the the term of endearment

"Will you come to the Miner Day celebrations with me?" Rachel asked chewing on the inside of her in nerves as she wondered whether the two were going to fast, after all they had only been one date but judging by her actions Erica didn't think the were going fast so she took the chance

"Ah shoot, sorry babe I can't I have work" Erica groaned "but I will try to get out off early and come join the party to spend sometime with you"

"Don't worry about it Ric" Rachel says

"I really am sorry" Erica pouted as her phone rang and she gave Rachel a chastise kiss on the lips before stepping back and answering her phone to a call that said she had to meet some people down at the boarder of the town since there was an accident "But I got to go, I'll see you later though, if I can"

"Can't wait!" Rachel called after her as she made her way to the edge of town

Storybrooke. Present day.

Erica knelt down as she snapped a photo of the inside of the car before searching through the glovebox, her latex gloves stopping her from contaminating any evidence that she may have found to tell her exactly what happened, unfortunately all she did find was a driver licence 

"Mind if I join you?" A voice startled Erica and brought up to look up to see that Sydney Glass was making his way towards her

"What do you want?" Erica narrowed her eyes towards the man 

"Look I know we are probably not on the best of terms, you and I and that you probably blame me for getting her to try and bring Madam Mayor down, and I was fired from The Daily Mirror because of it so lets just say my actions are not going unpunished but you may need my help because I have contacts and while I may not work as an editor for The Daily Mirror anymore but that doesn't mean I can't freelance a little bit"

"Let's get this clear now I don't blame you for Emma's action's in all of this. It was her choice and she must be held accountable for that choice, so you aren't the one that needs to apologise to me. Emma is" Erica stated flatly "However I could use the help but as soon as I see the first bit of trouble your off the case"
