XXXViii. Homebound

Storybrooke. Present day.

"DO YOU KNOW what's going on?" Erica whispered as she leaned towards her sister in the back of her parents truck as they were cramped into their back of her parents truck after the former bandit and prince had told their daughters that they wanted to show them something but never elaborated so now Erica Swan was squished into the back of her parents truck trying to find out just what the hell was going on 

Emma shook her head just as clueless as Erica before the car pulled to a stop and the two blonde haired women get out of the car and Emma looked over to her parents "What aren't you guys telling us? Why the secrecy"

"Because you need to see it" Mary Margret replied to her youngest daughter 

"That never ends well" Emma mumbled to her sister who nodded her head as the younger blonde looked at her parents in slight irritation and confusion "Look we don't have time for this as Erica asked me to try and help her figure out who August was trying to warn us about -- someone dangerous"

"Don't worry about that" David brushed off with a grin

"What do you mean?" Erica questioned as she raised an eyebrow at her parents behaviour. They were being suspicious and it wasn't helping that the two of them were not tell the women what was going on 

Again instead of answering Erica's question, Mary Margret just smiled and grabbed onto Erica's arm while Emma had to grab her other hand to keep her from falling over and Mary Margret mumbled an apology but she was still grinning as she led her daughters across the road and the twins shared a glance at each other as they got closer to what looked like an empty field but as they stepped up to the edge of the field; a cold feeling passes through her causing the blonde haired woman to shiver but as she stepped forward she could see rows and rows of what looked to be beans 

"Emma!" A voice exclaimed startling the group to a man running through the field towards them. He had a bushy beard and was wearing what looked to be something like an old fashioned togo to Erica and upon seeing the man Emma smiles and goes to hug the man "Are you here to help? It's not quite harvest time

Emma takes a step backwards slightly confused and then realisation dawns on her "Magic beans? You're growing magic beans? That's what you were doing in New York, why didn't you tell us?" She lets her gaze slide over to Erica and then as she asked "Did you know about this?"

Erica she her head as David chuckled "We are telling you. Mother superior -- she cloaked the area, that way Anton can do what he does best"

"And what's that?" Erica questioned raising an eyebrow, she was confused as to who this man was and why everyone seemed to know what he was doing here and the connection he had to the beans "Sorry to sound rude, but who are you"   

"He's that friend I was telling you about" Emma said jogging Erica's memory to east she told them in the Enchanted Forest which didn't make sense at the time but now Erica knows. that he must have been the friend that helped Emma keep Jaclyn and Killian on the beanstalk while they tried to find a way home and talking about Jaclyn and Killian where the hell where they? Erica thought they would be back by now

But for now she had more important things to deal with

"Actually you haven't seen me play darts but yeah I also do this pretty well" Anton shrugs

"B-But Anton don't take this the wrong way but w-why are you --?" Emma starts to ask really confused and so was Erica but for now she was smarter than her twin as she tried to figure out why her parents we really growing some magic beans

"Small?" Anton finished and Emma and Erica both nods"Cora, but I kind of like it"

Leroy appears at Aton's side at snapped at the small giant "Stop lallygagging and get back to work" He then walks away after clipping the shears in the direction if the former giant before walking away and Anton turns to Emma 

"Man dwarfs love to work" Anton mutters before turning to Emma and Erica and nodding towards them "Nice to see you Emma and nice to meet you"

"You too I suppose" Erica smiled politely 

"You too" Erica grins

Storybrooke. Present day.

After finding out why their parents had been hiding the fact that they had been magic beans to go back to the Enchanted Forest with the twins and Henry, both twins found themselves to be upset however Erica unlike her sister had a more responsible way of handling things and didn't let her emotions get the better of her

"Deputy Swan can I speak to you for a moment?" Regina asks leaning on the side of Erica's desk where the woman was currently writing report after report to keep the town from going to hell after taking the week off to recover from her heart darkening, not to mention she was trying to find Jaclyn and Killian because she was worried about them, sure they could have just got on. their ship and sailed through the seven seas but she had a gut feeling that something was very wrong 

Erica looked up blinking a few times in confusion due to the fact that Regina hadn't spoken to her since Erica handed her Cora's heart to put back in her her chest after this Regina hadn't muttered a single word to her unless it was a snide remark "W-What?"

"You're sister seems to be hiding something and I want to know what" Regina snarled 

"You think I know what my sister is hiding?" Erica asked raising an eyebrow 

"Well you are her twin aren't you?"

"Yes I am but as you've seen how I've literally had to pry information out of Emma if I want to know what's going through her mind -- she can't really communicate and that's something she's been struggling with since childhood. We both have our struggles but Emma's struggles are more visible due to her lack of emotional connection to nearly everyone but me and Henry and maybe Neal because I can see that she still loves him"

"Fascinating" Regina drawls sarcastically. "But what I want to know is what she is hiding and. she obviously wont talk to me and I would rather not ask you for anything but it seems like everyone else is hiding something from me and I know although we're not the best of friends, but out of everyone else you are the one person who treated me like a human being"

"Okay I'll try" Emma tells her and Regina nodded and turned around to go and Erica calls to the former Evil Queen who spins around on her heel and raised an eyebrow waiting for the blonde woman to speak "Regina I'm so sorry"

"I don't need your pity" Regina snapped "Besides your hearts only going to grow darker"
