Somewhere in the Enchanted Forest. One year ago

"WHAT'S ON YOUR mind babe?" Jaclyn asked cautiously as she followed Erica into their room, she was seething and had barely spoken a word to her since they rescued Jaclyn from getting hung. Erica just didn't know what to say or do, her feet turned to cement holding her in place when all she wanted to do was run as fast and as far as she could

Jaclyn lifted a hand and went to touch her shoulder and as soon as she did, Erica went rigid with fear, despite the warmth of her hand Erica felt cold which wasn't normal especially when Jaclyn was touching her after all Jaclyn was her safe place "Don't touch me" She snapped

Recoiling her hand as if she had been burned Jaclyn's face fell. Erica didn't care that her girlfriend looked like a wounded animal back into a corner. She was too wound up to give it a second thought, anger blazed through her veins at the situation that they found themselves in and went straight to her core running red hot

"Just tell me what's wrong!" Jaclyn exclaimed, hurt by not being able to comfort her girlfriend and the fact that when she was hurting the most she couldn't lean on her and didn't feel like Jaclyn was her home when that was exactly the problem in Erica's mind -- that Jaclyn was her home. Her best friend, the one person she could run to when the world got a bit too much

And it was almost gone

Ripped away like the snap of a fragile rope, all the times she had dreamed of a future with Jaclyn, she had finally let herself dream of a future with someone other than Emma where her dark impulses won't get in the way because of what Jaclyn said was true then they would be together for a long time coming

"Go away!" Erica shouted, she was never one to raise her voice especially to Jaclyn but she was tired and afraid and seeing Jaclyn right now really wasn't helping. Because she was angry but not so much at Jaclyn than she was with herself and if everything that Jaclyn said was true that the pirate wanted a future with her then she was angry that it was almost taken away from her

After all that work she had put in

Call Erica selfish but she didn't want to deal with the object of her anger right now

"No!" Jaclyn said, as stubborn as ever, she didn't know when to stop, and it was really starting to piss Erica off even more. Anger boiled underneath her skin and the blonde had to heave a sigh to stop herself either from bellowing, hurting Jaclyn by accident or crying or at this point, all three were a viable option

"Jaclyn Teague..."

"I'm not going anywhere until we sort this out!"

"Then you'll be waiting a long time"

Erica sat down on the bed and flopped backwards, a heavy sigh leaving her lips as she buried her head into the duvet, the gentle rocking of the boat soothing her. Almost. Again Jaclyn didn't heed her warning and walked over to the bed, sitting down on it if the dip in it was anything to go by

"Look at me and talk"

"I don't wanna talk, not to you"

"Why? Is it so terrible that you saved me? Do you not want to be with me anymore, is that is? To you, I was just a source of comfort, a way to get over your sister and control your darkness. I thought you weren't one to say things you didn't mean but I guess I was wrong" Her words were bitter, riddled with hate and acid and tears stung the back of Erica's eyes but she didn't relent and tell Jaclyn how wrong she was "I'm going to go now if your still here in the morning I know you're still mine"

Jaclyn didn't say anything else just got up and crossed back to the door, giving it a few minutes before resting her hand on the door, and a few more seconds after that before she turned the knob and walked out, clearly Erica was done talking
