     This story will be dark and gritty. There will be strong themes, violence, and heavy language among other things. Literally, anything can happen in this story. The chapters will vary in length as well. I only add this in the beginning so that you know what you're getting into. But if a darker fantasy story is what you're after and enjoy, please, continue on!

     I will be trying some new things in order to make this story easier to understand and follow. The main one will be that I will put inner monologue in Italics. By inner monologue for those who may not know what that means, it's just when the character that you are reading as is speaking to themselves in their head.

     Lisa's last name is changed for the story, I promise it's relevant.

     I may also add a theme song or opening song that may change during the progression of the story as well as songs to help you understand the mood of the situation at hand. I may even be doing art for this series! So I may be doing concept art for Y/n and a few other characters.

Introduction

     What happens when the human soul becomes so powerful that the body can no longer contain its energy? The answer is that it manifests into what can only be explained as magic or energy. To this day we call this energy "Sole". As you can imagine, this got pretty crazy. The first generation had problems controlling and understanding what was happening as these abilities began manifesting at a fairly harsh level later in life. Even though this caused chaos it was soon controlled and soon put to use by the Sole users. Sole users that were committing crimes were nearly impossible to bring in through police force alone, so most departments hired Sole users that had control, for the most part, of their Sole to help catch them.

     Not long after, the second generation of Sole users were born their abilities began showing up within the first years of their lives, whether or not their parents were Sole users. This was the generation that began learning in special classes in schools to use their abilities. Importance was placed on learning how to properly use their abilities in a more positive way than to use them for personal gain. Even with this and the growth of the Sole Force Department Sole users still committed crimes with their abilities.

     The second generation was also the birth of something dangerous. A late bloomer known as Lucifer, who was the leader of a dangerous gang in Korea and a dark energy Sole user, previously had weak Sole until a standoff with the S.F.D. His powers went from barely noticeable to dangerously powerful. He was able to kill and lay waste to everyone in the area: the SFD, the police force that answered the call, and even his own men. This was the known birth of what were labeled as Arch Rank Users or A.R.U for short. Because of Lucifer's training to control his weaker Sole, he had no problems learning to control his now powerful one. He became so powerful that police and SFD stopped getting in his way, fearing for their lives. Because of this, a new registry was formed to list known A.R.U. It was ruled by the government that should an A.R.U. be captured or subdued they were to be put on death row and/or locked in a specially designed cell to prevent them from hurting anyone due to them being considered incredibly dangerous to humanity.

     Around this time a family began making a name for themselves for taking down fairly powerful Sole users and turning them in. While they weren't ARU's, the family also weren't Sole users themselves, so the feat was impressive. They made weapons from the energy of the Sole users that they turned in to create weapons that could take the form of regular jewelry or objects until called upon for use. This combined with the extensive martial arts training they went through and put their children through made them formidable enough for the job of hunting Sole users. They're also the only ones known to be able to fight off Lucifer, even though they still avoid him if possible after losing one of the best fighters in the family. They're known simply as "The 'M' Family", or M for short.
