Y/n POV

My phone rang a familiar song, which stirred me awake. I took a deep sleepy breath and answered it without looking, holding it to my ear.

"Hey!" I heard Lisa's voice from the other end. "Did I wake you?"

"Yeah, but it's fine," I responded as I sat up. "You said you'd call me around now because you wanted to come over and help me clean my place."

"Yup, we're on our way over, see you soon!" She didn't give me a chance to say bye before hanging up.

I let out a sigh and speak to myself. "That girl is something else..."

My place isn't even that dirty, I don't know why she insisted on coming over and cleaning up... I moved a small bit to swing my legs over the side of my bed and a pain shot through my body. Okay, maybe it's a good thing she's coming over to help...These bruises need to go. I walk over to the mirror and examined the bruises on my torso. At least they look way better. Still hurts like a bitch, though.

I carefully got dressed, trying to avoid hitting the bruises if possible. God it hurts to breathe...

I went through my usual morning routine. Brushing my teeth, washing my face, and all of the usual basic things. Coming up from washing my face, I came face to face with the thing that haunts me. The scars my powers have left on my eyes. The monster inside. I close my eyes and take a deep breath as I reach for my contacts. I quickly put them in so I wouldn't have to look at who I am any longer than I need to.

I soon found myself in the kitchen looking for something to drink when my doorbell rang. Sitting the banana milk that I was drinking down, I went to answer the door. I let the girls in, each of them bowing as they passed me. Chaeyoung, Jennie, and Jisoo looked around since they hadn't been in my house yet. Lisa came to help me relax when I got back from Hawaii, so she already knew what it was like.

"Wow, this is a cute little place," Chaeyoung commented.

"It really is!" Jennie agreed. "I hope you don't mind that I brought my dog, Kuma, with me. I didn't want to leave him at home alone."

"That's fine. He's cute." I said with a smile.

"It's so cozy," Jisoo added, bringing the conversation back to my house.

"Lisa said the old man who took care of you raised you here, is that true?" Chaeyoung asked thoughtfully as she looked back over to me.

"Yeah. He left me the house when he passed away. He had a son, but I never met him. Told me that he ran away and he'd never get to have his son back. I'm not sure where he went. I assumed back to Japan." I answered.

"That's so sad..." Jisoo said, her hand covering her mouth.

"He's never come to at least check on the house? Or see his dad when he passed away?" Chaeyoung asked.

"No, never came to the funeral. It was just me and Jooheon with his family." I answered.

"That's terrible..." Jennie said solemnly. "You know what, though? The son that was most important was there for him."
