S1E10: Round One

Blue Embers: Season 1 Episode 10

-Round One-

Y/n POV

"Hey, Y/n, wake up, we got our pairings for today." Jooheon's voice woke me from my sleep.

I sleepily inhaled and sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes. Once I was satisfied that I had gotten the tired out, I yawned and stretched, then got out of bed. I threw on my sunglasses just in case one of the people I knew from school happened upon our dorm, or we ran into them outside for whatever reason. After brushing my teeth and getting dressed, I walked out to the main room where the table and kitchen was, meeting Jooheon and Adrian.

"So, who fights who?" I asked curiously as I sat down at the table where they had a small breakfast ready for me.

"No idea. All we know is no one in the dorm here is fighting each other." Jooheon answers, handing me an envelope. "All they tell us is what match we are."

I open the envelope and see "Match 13" on it in fancy calligraphy writing. "Looks like I'm match thirteen, what about you guys?"

"I'm match four," Jooheon responds first.

"Fifteen for me." Adrian adds. "Looks like I'm last up for the first round."

"Participants of match one, please report to the ring immediately. You have ten minutes, if you do not show, you will be eliminated." Came a voice over the loudspeaker.

"Guess our opponents are a surprise for the first round." Jooheon reasons.

"People are heading to watch though, so I guess most the fighters won't have a problem getting there on time," Adrian announced as he looked out the window. "You dudes wanna go watch as well?"

"I'll pass. They always display the winner on the board for everyone to see, so we'll be able to know who's won by that. But I'll definitely watch your guys' matches." Jooheon spoke before finishing his coffee.

"I couldn't have better cheerleaders!" Adrian exclaimed excitedly. "Wait, though. Y/n, are you just going to go all out since your face will be covered, or are you going to try to not use your Sole?"

"I'm going to hold it back as long as possible. Since Hellfire called me out to be here, I would like to have an element of surprise. If I'm lucky, I can catch him off guard enough to at least beat him." I explained. "Even then, it won't be easy. He's been making some serious problems and seems to have a good handle on his Sole."

We sat around talking about things that's been happening and the history of Lucifer's gang with Adrian. We explained everything that came to mind so that he would understand why myself and Jooheon are even participating. We also explained that Lucifer and I were the first ARU's in Korea. After more talking, we figured that Lucifer and I were actually the first two that awakened. At least between America and Korea. Someone could have awakened in a different country.

About an hour later, the announcement we had been waiting for sounded.

"Participants of match four, please report to the ring immediately. You have ten minutes, if you do not show, you will be eliminated." Jooheon stood up and took a deep breath as I grabbed my mask.

"This is it." He said as he walked out the door with us behind him.
