Mortals Meet Percabeth

Halloween Special: Alexandra Thomas

"Aleeeeeexxxx," Ella whines as I finish straightening my hair. I stand up, and unplug the straightener and smooth out my orange sweater. My short dark brown hair matches perfectly with the costume.

"Velma, you mean, Daphne," I chuckle standing up. Ella's light brown hair has been interrupted with a purple headband to complete her Daphne Blake look. Her costume is perfect for Daphne, the green scarf, lavender heels and purple sweater skirt combo making her feel like she stepped right out of the cartoon.

"Sorry Velma," Ella laughs, leaning in to kiss me on the cheek.

"Can you believe its been a year since I first kissed you?" I recalled, squeezing her hand.

"Oh god, yes! By the by, Annabeth and her friends will be at Halloween Town too. I wonder what their costume theme will be this year." Ella kisses me again.

"Right! Last year, that Avengers ensemble was so amazing. Straight from the movies." I look up at the clock and my fake circular glasses almost fall off my face.

"God! We're late already, Ell! Let's go!" I grab Ella's hand and drag her out of my room.

"Wait! I left my purse!" she yells, struggling and laughing to leave my grasp and go grab it.

We pull up into the crowded parking lot of the Halloween Town Haunted House and Festival. Ella spots a parking spot, so I quickly pull into it.

I turn the keys out of the ignition and hurriedly climb out of the car. Ella does the same.

"I wish Lauren hadn't moved. Then it really would have been like last year," Ella reminisces.

"Yeah. I do miss her. We wouldn't be together without her."

We walk up to the entrance buying wristbands to get in. We hurry in and start fooling around and pretending that the decorations terrify us.

"I like your costumes!" comes a voice from behind us.

I turn around and am faced with Annabeth Chase, Ella's former crush and our friend. She's  dressed in a black and gold costume with a black mask that covers only around her eyes.

"Annabeth! Thank you!" Ella exclaims, giving Annabeth a quick hug.

"I like yours too.." Ella says, pulling away.

"Who are you?" I question.

Annabeth laughs, "Black Canary. She's a character in DC. Nobody knows of her apparently."

"Are you and Percy still together?" Ella asks, squeezing my hand.

In response, Annabeth holds up her left hand, flashing a sparkling ring on her finger.

"Holy shit!" I exclaim.

"You're engaged!" Ella squeals.

"Yep. He's around here somewhere. So is everyone else. I think they went to buy food."

Almost if on cue, Percy comes up, and kisses Annabeth on the cheek, holding a funnel cake in one hand. 

He's dressed in an iconic (and poorly made) Aquaman costume, straight out of the comics. The movie, not so much.

"I hope you know you look like such a dork, seaweed brain," Annabeth laughs.

"We all look like dorks, Annie." Annabeth sighs and kisses him.

"Yes, yes we do."

"At least you guys don't look like this," comes a voice from behind me. Ella and I turn around to the sight of a blonde Superman with glasses, looking incredibly self-conscious, for a good
reason.

A girl dressed as Wonder Woman is laughing hysterically next to him.

"Jason! The-the underwear! The red underwear! It's over the costume! I can't! I can't!

"Piper!" he yells, before sighing and crossing his arms.

"She's hasn't stopped laughing since I put the costume on."

Ella laughs behind me, and I cover my mouth.

"I am Batman. I am BATman. I AM Batman. I am BATMAN."

I whirl around to see a muscular Asian man dressed as Batman, repeating the phrase over and over, a different inflection each time.

"Hazel? Which one sounds better?" he inquires, turning to a short girl with dark skin and gold eyes. She's dressed in a brown suit that has animal patterns over it.

"The first one maybe, Frank. If anyone should be, announcing who they are it should be me. No one in their right mind knows who Vixen is." She groans. "And I'm cold." In response, Frank hugs her.

"Thank you, BATman," Hazel chuckles.

"Where is Leo and Cali?" asks Annabeth. "Or should I say Shazam and- well Cali?"

"Right here!" I turn around to see Leo in all of his glory ( I've only met him once but, he has that kind of vibe) is dressed in a red and yellow suit. He looks completely out of place next to the girl in a white dress and black jacket next to him.

"Leo, I can't believe you actually dressed up like that. When I suggested it, it was a joke-" Hazel chuckles.

"But I look quite awesome, don't I, Haz?" Leo smirks. Cali shakes her head and laughs next to him.

"No, you look like a doofus." She kisses his cheek, saying the words with gentleness.

"Awww, thanks- HEY!" Leo laughs. The entire group burst into laughter.

"Does anyone want to go to the haunted house with Annie and I?" Percy asks.

"I'm in!" Ella chuckles next to me.

"Me too!" I laugh, squeezing her hand.

The group choruses yes around us.

"Great! Hope you all aren't scaredy cats!" Percy chuckles. Annabeth laughs.

"Hope you all aren't slow! See you there!" Annabeth charges off towards the Haunted House and the other take off, Leo slowly following behind because of his bulky suit.

I'm about to take off when Ella kisses my cheek.

"You okay? C'mon lets run!" I say. She kisses me again.

"Let's go slow. It's our anniversary after all," she smiles brightly kissing me on the lips. I pull away and wrap my arms around her. I break into a large smile.

"I think I'm alright with that."

Ella laughs and pulls me into another kiss as a soft breeze send her hair flying into the wind.

I pull away. "Did I ever tell you, you always smell like oranges?" Ella laughs.

"You still smell like peppermint!"

EEEE! Sorry this is up late but, I got sick so I think that's an excuse. So here is Ellex, the couple from my first Halloween episode. I thought that they deserve to be in my second special at the very least.
