Kyung Mi's POV

As my phone light shone on Kai I could see the fear in his eyes. My back was pressed against his chest to which I could feel his racing heart. He looked down at me as I looked up at him. "What's going-"Be quiet or else they'll hear you". Kai repeated cutting me off. I nodded trying to remain calm.

Suddenly we heard the voices come closer flashlights shining through the bush blinding me. I felt Kai tense against me as we saw the people walk in front of us. Luckily we were covered by a bush from whom ever these people were. It was enough evidence that Kai was afraid of these people. Kai's breathing picked up as I could feel his hot breath on my neck. This was a side I never seen from Kai, being afraid. I had always thought he was an emotionless person,  but I guess these people have some beef with him. "Find him he couldn't have gotten too far. He needs to pay for what he done a few nights ago. That kid will get what's coming to him". A guy angrily demanded.

Within a few minutes the guys left and I felt Kai breathe a sigh of relief. He leaned his head against the tree breathing heavily. Upon realizing the tight grip on my sweater my cheeks began to redden. Luckily it was dark so he couldn't see my blush. "Um, do you mind?" I asked looking down at his arms around my waist.

Kai looked down immediately taking his arms off of me rubbing his nape in a cute manor. "S-Sorry I was just trying to protect you from them. I didn't mean to keep hold on you". He whispered his voice oddly quiet. I had never seen this side of him before. Only the cold side of him which made his face look hard. But as I look at him now from the moonlight his face looks softer, more innocent looking.

But then the idea came to me as why they were looking for him. What did he do to make them so angry? "You're fine I understand it was out of instinct. Who were those people?" As soon as I asked the final question I seen him visibly tense. For a minute Kai was quiet fiddling with a bracelet he wore. He looked up at me his face unreadable. "They were some bad people. People that shouldn't get mixed in society. Why were you in the woods in the night anyway? It's no place for a girl to be out here alone". At the last part I could have sworn he sounded concerned.

"I lost my dog on a walk and wondered if she came here. Obviously she's long gone by now". I stated sadly that she hasn't shown herself. She was the last piece I had of my mother before she sadly passed. "Did your dog by any chance have a purple leash?" Kai asked catching my attention. How did Kai know? Did he see her? "How do you know?" I asked feeling a spark of hope.

I saw Kai reach out of his hoodie for something before handing  me a purple leash. "Is this your dogs leash?" He asked pointing towards it. I checked it over noticing it had the initial V engraved into it.  My eyes widened. "Yes it is her leash. Did you by any chance see the dog?" I asked feeling anxious. Kai shook his head. "The leash was caught in a low line branch but there was no sign of a dog. Sorry I didn't see it". Kai said as he stood up.

Tears brimmed my eyes as I felt like I lost a piece of my mom. "It's okay. It's not your fault. I appreciate you finding her leash". I bowed in gratitude. I heard Kai chuckle confusing me. "What's so funny?" I asked confused. Kai shook his head glancing down at me. "You're the first girl who's bowed to me. There's no need for that. You don't have to be formal". He said with a small smile that passed for nearly a grimace.

I tilted my head up at him surprised he's being nice to me. Most girls at school fall head over heals for him or try talking to him, but he ignores them. Why am I the first girl he's talked to? "It's a polite way of my gratitude for finding my dogs leash. If I didn't bow I'd feel rude. Besides being kind is something we need more in the world nowadays". I stated.

Kai nodded before looking up at the moon. "Maybe your dog will return. It's late we should be going. Do you have someone to take you home?" Kai asked as we started making our way towards the park. "No, I walked remember?" I stated looking at the ground. I heard Kai hum under his breath.

As I looked back at Kai I accidentally tripped on a tree root. I closed my eyes bracing myself for impact, but it never happened. I felt a pair of strong arms grab onto me. I opened my eyes seeing Kai's black hoodie around my arm. "Whatch where you're going". Kai spoke a little harshly. I flinched at his tone looking down. "Sorry". I muttered following behind Kai.

Kai seemed so kind earlier and just like a coin being flipped he's back to being cold. As we reached the park I seen a green motorcycle parked in the car park. "You coming Kyung Mi?" Kai asked turning to face me. When I looked up at him his face read impatience as he rose an eyebrow. "You want me to ride with you. . . on that thing?" I asked pointing to his motorcycle. Kai nodded looking at his bike before he smirked.

"Are you scared?" He asked climbing onto his bike. "Pssh, no. I'm not scared". I said nervousness lacing my voice. Kai shook his head. "It's late Kyung Mi and walking alone at night isn't safe. Hope on I'll give you a ride home". Kai said as he unlocked the helmet from his seat. "Take this as me being nice". Kai said his tone huskier than earlier. I bit my lip nervously eyeing his bike. I never rode on a motorcycle before. Or with the bad boy of our school. "What's it goona be Kyung Mi?" Kai asked looking at me.

I hesitatingly hopped onto his bike making sure my leg wasn't on the exhaust pipe. "Here put this on your head". Kai said handing me the black and green helmet. I slipped it on my head but couldn't figure out the snap. "Um can you help me?" I embarrassingly asked. Kai sighed before getting off his bike. He walked over to me a smirk playing on his lips as he looked over my face. "Must I do everything". He whispered. I watched as he fastened the strap concentrating on it hard. I saw him smirk before slamming the visor shut on the helmet. "What about your helmet?" I asked. He turned towards me sitting down. "I'll be fine. Just use mine. Hang onto me tightly alright? When I turn lean the direction I do. If you don't lean I could dump the bike. Where to?" He asked kicking the kickstand up.

I held onto him tightly as I felt like i was gonna fall. "Not scared huh? What happened to not being scared Kung Mi". Kai said as he looked at my hands in his hoodie. I wanted to smack him playfully but realized we weren't friends.

"My address is 104 south street". I told him as he started the motorcycle. (I made up an address). He looked back at me and nodded. "Hang on tight". He said as we took off.
