Chapter Thirty

Kyung Mi's POV

"There's something I been needing to tell you to So Kyung Mi. From the first moment our worlds collided I couldn't get you out of my mind. Day and night I thought of you. For months I tried denying my feelings towards you, I tried staying away from which was found impossible. I feared of you getting mixed into my world which is cruel, but you already have. I wanted to protect your pure heart as I didn't want you to get mixed with me. But no matter what I always come back to you. I don't admit my feelings easily, but when I am around you I can't help but feel my heart feels a little warmer when around you. You're my light in this forsaken dark world that we live in. There's not a day that goes by that you aren't on my mind. You are my balance as you keep my world straight. You So Kyung Mi are the light to my darkness. And I can't picture a world without you in it. Like you I want to see where this goes. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Relief and nervousness filled my heart as those words left Kai's lips. I was happy that he felt the same as I did. "I don't mind getting mixed into your world as long as we're both in it together. No distance can keep us apart, we both tried and failed. It just shows that the both of us are willing to give this a try. And to answer your question, yes I'll be girlfriend".

A big smile lit up his face the most beautiful smile I had ever seen him wear. It was nice to see him smile rather than a frown. "You should smile more often it looks good on you". It was the truth. "I'm looking forward to spending more time with you". Kai said as he took my hand in his. A spark of electricity ran through my arm sending chills down my spine. I looked into his eyes feeling my heart race more if it were even possible. "Me too Kim Kai. I look forward to having great adventures and getting to know you better".

"After I'm out of the hospital I'll be sure to take you out on a proper date". Kai said as he looked at me in the eyes. "Sounds like a plan". I couldn't contain the excitement I felt inside but pressed it down hopefully going unnoticed.

Suddenly the door burst open and eight people came barging into the room. "Did she say yes?" Sehun asked nearly falling over. A smirk came to Kai's lips as he looked to me then his friends. "What do you think?" D.O spoke glaring at Sehun. "Does the not holding the hands give it away". Chen spoke a smirk evident on his face. Sehun nodded giving a thumbs up.

"Yes, she said yes". Kai said as he raised our hands for confirmation. My cheeks began to burn as I wasn't used to the attention. "About damn time you two got together. Chanyeol and I here were about to set you guys up on a blind date just so you would go out". Baekhyun said as he and both Chanyeol nodded.

"Congratulations you two". Chen said before walking out of the room leaving all of us confused. "Excuse me for a minute". Suho said before following Chen.

Chen's POV

"Congratulations you two". Once those words left my mouth I knew it was a lie. My heart ached knowing that Kyung Mi now belonged to Kai, my best friend. I shouldn't be feeling these feelings yet I am. I know I said I was fine with it but it's hard giving up someone you like. I grabbed at my hair feeling frustrated at myself. I'm such a bad friend.

"You alright Chen?" I turned at the sound of the voice that belonged to Suho. "I'm such a bad friend Suho. First I tell her that I'm fine with them liking each other. But now that their a couple I don't like it. That's not how a friend should act. I should be happy for them, but all I feel is sadness. I've liked her for years, but I never had the guts to tell her until a few weeks ago. But I came too late". My heart felt broken inside.

"I've known for a long time that you liked her. I know heartache is never a good feeling but you will overcome this. It doesn't last forever. At least you know she's in good hands. If you need space I'll tell them that you feel unwell. But this storm shall pass and it'll get better. It takes time which is what your heart needs".

"If I can't protect her that way I'll still find a way to protect her from Kai's world. I'll go back, but I'll say that I wasn't feeling well".
